Frankly, I just don't understand why China is so damn against its primary and most important resource- Its people.

It is a country's population that determines its size and ranking among nations. Australia for example is a huge country in terms of size, but no body talks about it as a large country

You knowledge is wrong so you often understand wrong. It's not your own problem, it's due to Indian failure in education.

Because Chinese leadership have a vision that overpopulation is a big issue for China's long term interest. This does not mean Chinese against ourselves, it's a pragmatic strategy to avoid over competition on resource and provide a much better life and opportunity for individual. It's a trade off between overall national interest and individual. Plus China already loose birth control. The issue here for China is sustainable social insurance, not the size of innovation talent pool, if China has no a competitive talent pool by its population and education, what else country can have?

India has yet no effective population control, along with the climate change hence unstable agricultural output, more and more countries step into industrialization hence more competition, the prevalence of robotics and automation, AI hence less labor requirement India has a big challenge for food security, job creation and other facilities to feed its own people. African population is already out of control, they get started to flood into Europe. Don't expect Europe, America to 'accept' surplus population in the future, they already turn to right and will tight their borders and immigration policy.

innovation does not come from day dreaming or an idea of a sudden. all valued and commercially successful innovation came from years of close observations and profound understanding of related areas of expertise! or else are all BS

you may have one or two young people came up with an idea, and to make it happen. but whats most of the mass dont know is that loads and loads of failed works had done before that!

so, a country's innovation level has nothing to do with ages (well only if you want to argue when the country is full of 70-years-old). infact, most innovation came from age gap of 30s-50s

Why are Indians so determined to overpopulate this world and its fast dwindling resources and increasing pollution.
Credit should be given to the great sacrifice by the Chinese to drastically reduce their population and therefore help control the price and availability of food worldwide.
Australia don't need the overpopulation, pollution and hunger that is India.
Big spaces with huge surplus of healthy food for a reasonably sized population should be the goal,
not attention seeking size and ranking among nations.

No wonder Supa Powa keep boasting of its PPP GDP and its large size despite millions dying of hunger and disease.
Its shameful !!!

Buss, for the sake of humanity, India needs to start controlling her population. I for one have never complained about the one child policy, and now the two child policy for gradual reduction. Our population needs to be reduced, both China and India.

Innovation is not about demographics, else Japan, EU and US would have been surpassed by Africa long time ago. You need to think critically not just believing in hype about the demographic dividend.

China has a large number of young people as well. Aging population is a statistics, certianly the problem is increasing social insurance burden.
