Really? If you forget about modern borders of India and China for a minute, still both Buddha and Shiva are very much tied to Dharmics cultures that originated from the land and people who inhibited the modern day Indian. Culturally, linguistically and racially, they are Dharmics.

Most probably. I just don't agree that Buddhism is from India. There is no India in ancient times. Looking at the portrait, the Buddha don't look like a Bharat. A big fertile land with so many cultural sites and diversity, so much professionals, is certainly underperforming. Look at this statue of Shiva in Angkor wat temple, Cambodia; The statue has East Asian features. So now you can claim that Shiva is also East Asian. Especially, Mount Kailash, the abode of Shiva is in Tibet. So I guess Shiva is a East Asian too.
