China willing to rename China Pakistan Economic Corridor to appease India

Is it OK if its name it Jodha Bhaai ?? just to make indians feel good?? I am sure if indians accept it then making a Bollywood blockbuster on CPEC wont be far from becoming a reality.

Hahaha, Its China proposing a name change not India,
Even if you change name, India will not accept this proposal

China understands without India the CPEC dream will always have troubles. To make it secure and full proof China seeks India inclusion.

Given the situation in last few years (Afganistan attack, bad relations with Iran, Blasts/attacks in major cities/military-polics establishments) China does-not want to compromise the investments she is making in the project.

Getting India onboarded will at least secure CPEC investments to some extent. I donot think that India will accept this, even if name is changed.

1) The problem isn't Pakistan. The problem has always been in your heads. You are a bigger country but obsessed with Pakistan like that ex-husband or a wife one can't forget....even decades after the divorce. Time to really move on? In international treaties, its not that easy to stop the trade after the agreement. The issue is, you know you'll end up creating more Baluchistan's if the trade was allowed and they'll stop it. So again, the issue isn't in Pakistan, its inside your head. You guys can't act truthfully with the Pakistanis. The history has it. You are casually stopping the water to 200 million people....not caring the devastation it would bring to the region if a war started over water. So just like now with the CPEC if a war was to breakout and all else failed, your Modi and family will create another show of some sort, to open the flow of the water. So we've seen this Indian show way too many times. Forgot the Indian not-so diplomat arrested in NY? I can name you a thousand shows you guys put together and think the world consists of morons who can't distinguish between real issues and drama queen issues.

2) China isn't rallying behind anything. The Chinese were "requested" that India wishes to join the project (finally and with embarrassment) if the name was changed. China doesn't need anything from you. You aren't the US and will never be. You should know the reality before talking like that. The Chinese are about 10 years ahead of you in every field. Its like the French or the Britts thinking the US "needs them" when we talk about being allies and partners. How cute is the thought of that :smitten::rofl:

First,

The way you are speaking it seems, among Neighbors only India has the problem with Pakistan. It has been proven by India, Afghanistan and Iran that Pakistan has used its people/military as non state actors to sponsoring terrorism and indulging trouble making in internal matters of these countries.

Do not say about ability of diplomats as, we all have seen the way Pakistan’s esteemed diplomats submitted dossiers to UN and don't blame on India for failures of Pakistan’s diplomats/negotiators as their incompetence has let peoples of Pakistan down and it’s not India, as India has looked after its peoples interests and have fought those cases legally and won it.

It’s been always strange that wherever Pakistan fails/falls to achieve something against India. Officials of Pakistan come out with some theories, excuses and strange accusations instead of understanding the reasons for such failures and rectifying it. Pakistan repeats that often and it has always blamed India for its mistakes, again regarding Indus Water Treaty, why Pakistan blames India for shortage of water when all these years they failed to utilize the share of water they got from IWT and now, when they are incapable of building dams and storing and supplying the water for the needy people/area that share of water which is presently sadly flowing to sea. Pakistan should do its homework instead of accusing India for its wrong doing.

Whenever India came forward for peace talk Pakistan Military tried to derail it, Kargil, Mumbai are the best example. Problem is with Pakistan and its Military Institutions not with India and in future keeping "threatening with war" as a permanent/compulsory sentence in the press release, will not work as it will be a clear sign of insecurity among the leaders/military establishments of the country which thinks superior to India.

Secondly

We know we are not USA and we also know China don’t need anything from us, and even though India said a big NO then why the China is wishing India to be part of it and you should be asking those questions, to Chinese Govt or cheerleaders of China instead an India. Had you ever though of it ?

Dear indians,

There seems to be some confustion about CPEC.

CPEC is not just a route...it is a framework, a flagship of OBOR Iniative.

It will go through phases.

Phase 1 is about building fundamental Pak infrastructure such as roads, bridge, powerplants, industrial zones etc.

Phase 2 will be shifting of Chinese labour intensive factories to Pak to serve Pak, ME, EU and African markets. Rapid industrialisation phase.

In this phase we shall see also some heavy industries such as steel and shipbuilding taking route.

In phase 2 there will be also Chinese educational instituition opening facilities in Pak.

Phase 3 is upgrading the phase 2.

CPEC is multi decades, long term, project. Basically it integerates Pak economy into the Chinese one. And NO it is not Chinese Colonisation of Pak. It is mutually benefitial. CPEC has to succeed since it is the model China will be replicating in other parts of the world.

So, in all reality, CPEC is here to stay. Nothing is going to stop it.

Regarding why China is inviting india to join OBOR, well, it has more to do with creating a peaceful environment for an Asian Century to take shape. This the fundamental reason why india is welcomed in SCO, BRICS, AIIB so on and so on.

Of course, india is an important country. Only a fool will deny it. Hence, we have seen Pres. Xi's praise of india many a time.

I would like to ask indians here on PDF to try a Counter Intuitive approach and see whether a Positive, Constructive and Mutually Benefitial outcome is possible.

Just look at the current situation. Three and only Nuclear Powers in Asia are locked in unwinnable situation without a way out. Who benefits from this?

Can you imagine what a power block could it be if these three nuclear powers join their hands in economic, geopolitical and security affairs?

I wish to see a peaceful resolution of conflicts between these three nations.

All we need is Paradigm Change, a different perspective to solve these colonial/emperial era problems in a creative way.... many solutions are possible which will make each side a winner.

As indians you wish to see the revival of your ancient civilisation and be treated with respect that you deserve... this can only happen when these three nations find a new Paradigm of Win-Win Cooperation and Coexistence.

I wish to see a prosperous Asia and a happy West. With Eurasian integeration through OBOR its possible for the First Time in Human History.

So, dear indians, please, at least give it a try here on PDF to see whether a Paradigm Change is possible.

We need to move forward and can not remain prisoners to colonial legacy.

Allow me to thank you for your Positive and Constructive ideas!

Regards,

SPF

@The Eagle , my dear friend, since the news is not validated... it is upto your good judgement to keep the thread open. Thanks!

India and China have a great future ahead- Being two ancient civilizations, we have better understanding- Not a single shot has been fired on Indo-China border since 1967 in spite of great differences when it comes to territorial dispute- And It is a commendable accomplishment, can't say about China but India wants this state to continue If possible with improvements and settlement of the Border issues once for all-

China should not feel threatened by Tibetans living in India and Dalai lama, India will never allow any misadventure from them- But would like China to solve their issues by inviting them back to Tibet and and not arresting them- Most of them would be happy to be back and accept Chinese rule-

India also doesn't want Pakistan to become an issue of confrontation between India and China- like Taiwan and China are brother in spite of the differences, India and Pakistan are brothers also- so things like 3000 Chinese marines or Navy Ships in Gwadar will makes India jumpy- Or exporting high performance weapons to Pakistan so that It could be used in war against India- It would create unnecessary tensions- Which both India and China doesn't want-

I hope the right sense prevails and China understand our concerns and we understand China's concerns- and work out a common path- Avoiding any unnecessary confrontations-

Thank you for this detailed explanatory post, possibly the best I have read from a Chinese. I shall attempt to respond on points I felt were important.

There seems to be some confustion about CPEC.

No, there is no confusion in an Indian mind on CPEC. We are clear of its aims & objectives.

Regarding why China is inviting india to join OBOR, well, it has more to do with creating a peaceful environment for an Asian Century to take shape. This the fundamental reason why india is welcomed in SCO, BRICS, AIIB so on and so on.

See, China resents when we even make roads in Arunachal Pradesh , we therefore expect China to be aware of the reason why we object to its constructing a road through a disputed area. The reasons are the same as those for China's objections in AP.

In its present form & route, it is unacceptable to India hence joining it is not an option.
I wish to see a peaceful resolution of conflicts between these three nations.

We all want peace & harmony.

The only way to achieve this is to accept realities. China needs to accept that AP is going nowhere. India needs to accept that Aksai Chin will not come back. Pak needs to accept that Kashmir is not going anywhere ever.

We need to move forward and can not remain prisoners to colonial legacy.

How does one remove the colonial legacy if we are unwilling to give & take ?

Convert the LC into an IB along the Indo Chinese & Indo Pak borders & move on.

Then &only then can we shed the ghosts of our past who do not let us move forward together.

The news is being shared as follows, confirming that there is no such offer exist. Also, CPEC is not alone the decision of China but both countries Pakistan-China and if there has to be any development in this regard or whatsoever, it is necessary that both parties will agree to the same and will be commenced.

China removes ambassador’s offer of ‘renaming CPEC’ from embassy website

Thread closed as reached to its logical conclusion.

Thanks.
