China's mistake was being too weak, both politically and militarily, to withstand aggressive intentions of foreign states. Now that China has re-emerged as a major power again, the best thing we can do to honour all the lives lost, in past wars, is to become as strong as possible, to never let such atrocities ever happen to us again.

But Spratyls is another story...

Vietnam can vacate some 29 islands that it occupied in the Spratlys.

China will develop them and create so many construction work for the Vietnamese.
