The truth is Donald Trump need to start a war to unite US. If you have been reading far-right sites, they are mobilizing armed men/militia(proud boys/patriots) to prevent Donald Trump being oust. Im one of few Chinese that don't care about Taiwan. Like Singapore, Taiwan in my mind can just be another Chinese country. Good relations with Taiwan can bring us Western endorsements and likability.
