Yes, Chinese media hides the fact. My Chinese colleagues say that too. But your claim that US media is free and reveals truth, then you are mistaken. They are just extension to govt policies. On one day, they are prasing Korea-US peace deal, or Iran-US peace deal, teh 2nd day, you are blaming them terrorists. Same goes for Al-Qaedah, Good/Bad Taliban., FSA etc etc.

You can verify yourself that easily. You only know about asians and muslims, what media has told you, and nothing else.

Historically, the Qing Empire used Muslims against each other.....they used Hui Warlords to kill and displace Uyghurs. Then they massacred Hui and kept them on a leash.

But in the early 1900's......some Uyghurs freed themselves during WWI and WWII. They made the First Islamic Republic of East Turkestan, which lasted for a year or couple of them...

Then during WWII and the Chinese Civil War, they created the Second Islamic Republic of East Turkestan which lasted for 9 years before the CCP retook the land by force.

And since Jihad started in Afghanistan (during the 80's), there have been attempts to create a Third Islamic Republic of East Turkestan. China is afraid because Xinjiang holds nearly 80-90% of the resources it needs to continue being a good economy.

I have some Muslim friends in China and they all have visited Xinjiang, interestingly they all deny such reports of concentration camps explicit muslim hatred in China.

All i know is that these people did deny structured hatred for muslims in China. One of them runs his own business and visits Xinjiang 3-4 times a year.
