Thank you for putting in some sense into this mindless comparisons about train speed.

Train speeds are got but you have to understand that how many people will travel and use that speed
One metro station is used by 6 million in Tokyo
Thats one metro station not even biggest train station

So for them it makes sense
For Pakistan
1st they need to connect whole country so train offer a cheaper and faster alternative than busses
2nd moving goods through trains will make roads less busy and take less toll on roads so it will save on road expenses and repair cost
3rd as for future and currently trains and Air lines are the main sources of moving large peoples
That will bring more private companies to invest so it will save Govs expenses which can be used somewhere
Pakistan needs to show that these system are earing profit and ask private companies to invest them so that way gov will still get less profit but they wont have to take all the loses themselves

I wish there could be an electrified railway track network all over the country capable of supporting High Speed Trains with speeds upto 300 - 350 km/h.

Pakistan will stay that way. I had huge hopes from PTI in their 6 years governance in KPK but they failed to make any new college or university or hospitals instead drowned the province in loans on BRT which we didn't need at all.

There are so many young kids who can't afford education and there are just a few hundred seats in government colleges so many of them don't even continue their studies anymore.

So yeah, we're doomed to be at the bottom of every list.

I haven't seen a single person ever caught or punished for power stealing.

1) Because of political opportunism. If one party tries to implement the law and make everyone pay taxes, another will rally behind not paying taxes. Also grass root corruption is still a major thing.
2) In many cases bill paying costumers and non-payers live in the same neighborhood and our power grids only go down to neighborhoods not individual homes, so if in a neighborhood of 100 homes, 10 are paying their bills those 10 will still face power shortages as the overwhelming majority of the neighborhood doesn't pay their bills.

Last 10 years have been a disaster never in our history things have been so worse..slowest growth highest debt ..
Even PTI hasnt done much when it comes to education in KPK in last 5 years

Primary education is the single most important thing to drive growth not metros...

China is helping Hungary and Serbia to upgrade their railway system and it's expected that the speed is also at about 160 KM, the high speed train fast than 300 KM is very expensive even for China and other developed nations like Spain and Germany, if you're the big boss of Pakistan railway department, you don't want to spend billions to construct a railway losing money everyday and finally go bankrupt, right?
