Certainly not what your "poor southerner" can afford. The "weird sh1t cuisine" here costs so much, it's 100% outside of normal people's ration. The famous "maotang" costs CNY 10000 a pop... One needs to be truly alternatively gifted to spend CNY10k on saying "I am so much special"

I don't get this mentality of constantly wanting to try weirder and more exotic meats. It is simply gross.

In America, when a rich person goes to a restaurant, they are eager to just get the best cut of steak money can buy. They don't think about eating weird fucking creatures because they are "rich".
