China starts the development of kilometer-class super large spacecraft

Only 1 sentence describes this: 我们已经不屑于地球上的琐事,新的目标是征服星辰大海
Na dude, as long as the US is trying to suppress China at every opportunity, China has to focus on earthly matters. Only when China is the undisputed world leader do China have the luxury to leave earthly disputes behind.

Unless this is the space based solar station I don’t think it would break even in our lifetime.

I think that it is a space based solar station too. Specially after I read some of China's ambitious space based solar station plan in some article.

Well the LM-9 is in development and engines tested already. Of course the projects are different and doubt LM-9 will not play a big part but not the only delivery system.

LM-9 and BFR will be the two only modern rockets of that ultra high capacity payload. Still not close to building any large station especially if it is for large solar station or for habitats on moon's surface. Those things would take hundreds of years to get to several hundred meters in dimension.
BFR and the Starship is probably ready only when LM-9 is pretty much ready for service. I bet both first service launch after testing will be within 2 years of each other. Very different vehicles but Starship idea is something that will end up like solar roof idea of Elon Musk or Solar Roadways. It is at the core going to be a terrible idea. Spent so much fuel to land anyway the proof will be in the years after first service.

Right now Starship just exploded again recently. Whatever, they want to keep calling it as the best new technique and method for affordable delivery okay. It will become more obvious in 20 or 30 years that idea was worthless but the technology of course is excellent. The Russians already explained quite well why the idea stinks worse than solar roads or roofs.
