I know some "pro independence" Taiwanese people here, and they gave me an impression that they don't have the will to fight to death for their cause. One of them even has PRC flag ready at his home in Taiwan. So it's either Americans fight to death for Taiwanese, or PLA may just have a walk in the park.

As one of taiwanese friends said those red-blooded Taiwanese were all killed by japs long ago. Now they are tied in knots between constitutional Republic of China or de facto "ROT", confused and disoriented.

US arms manufacturers will fight to the last US tax dollar so don't underestimate US resolve.

I just want to say both underestimate each other.

USA is underestimating China's capability to invade China, even begging Congress to increase the military budget against China.

While China's J-20 is just a "rough copy" of USA's fifth-gen fighter. It can fly, it's probably a fifth-gen fighter, but in terms of overall electronic capability, it's not as good as USA's.

Not to mention China's lack of real war experience.

What is this weird 2027 timeline? I remember, China is more looking at 2049. I don't see any action by Chinese before the mid-2030's when US naval strength will have gone down due to decommissioning of older ships and China would have built up much more solid inventory and technology.

We should remember history. None of the super powers went down without fighting be it Romans, Ottomans or British empire. USA has trapped Russia in Ukraine for a reason so that Russia becomes weak (it was never a match for US economically though). People who think that USA and its allies will let go Taiwan or say Japan or South Korea should remember that USA will do everything to push China a decade or two back.

People fail to understand it is not just China vs USA... it will be China vs the US lead global world order.

China will be facing a peer that has global alliances ranging from NATO-Japan-Korea-Taiwan-Gulf. With a combined economic GDP of 70 Trillion vs 20 bn or so of Chinas. China will have to wait until atleast 2050 at the minimum to even be a realistic threat. Yet the US alone has 2000+ latest 4.5+5 generation fighters. Till today no one can match the 1980s built F22s, let along the current 6th generation jet US is secretly testing. This will be decades ahead of the J20s tech.

China has made great strides in military tech with their competitive advantage being in missile technology. China has great jets such as J10-J16-J31-J20.

BUT...At the end of the day China's military is still 50% soviet or russian copied. India is even far far worse at close to 90%. I think both India and China have studied the russian-ukraine war in detail and have realized what junk weaponry they have in majority.

Lol what are you talking about? China/Mao tried several times and failed to take Taiwan, and they gave up because they realised they didn't have the capabilities to invade the island. They had no choice. You think invading a heavily defended militarised large island country is a joke? Lol The hell, even Russia is finding it difficult dealing Ukraine a deadly blow eventhough Ukraine is just the other side of the border to Russia and they have a large land border(except you believe China is far more powerful than Russia and could do better. Anyway, Ukraine and Russia are different from China and Taiwan. Ukraine gained independence after the breakdown of Soviet Union, even Russia recognised their independence. Putin invaded Ukraine because he was worried about Kiev getting closer and closer to the West or joining E.U. his earlier objective was to replace the pro westerm Ukrainian government. He considers Ukraine and Much of Balcan States and central Asia as Russia's sphere of influence where Russia alone should have total dominion over, just like France considers its former african colonies as its sphere of influence that shouldn't be encroached on by other powers. There are both all the hallmarks of imperial powers. So I don't understand why you are acting like any one of them is some sort of good guy with Morality. Lol

China's case is different to be honest, as Taiwan is merely an unfinished civil war where the CCP WASN'T ABLE TO DEFEAT THE KMT completely to this day. Lol
The only way I see a peaceful unification is by allowing a multi party ruling coalition, which I know is impossible for CCP to accept. So the only way is by force/war.
