Type 095 Submarine

The following is a translation from Chinese media:

According to sina.com.cn, China will adopt the following six new technologies in its type 095 attack nuclear submarines: new water injection propulsion, super strong steel, mixed single and double-hull structure, new comprehensive vibration reduction floating raft and vertical launch tube for cruise missile.

The website says that the new submarine has to have an underwater speed not less than 33 knots, silent cruise speed not less than 18 knots, and maximum submerging depth not less than 600 metres.

That means the submarine is better than the US Virginia-class and comparable to the US Seawolf-class attack nuclear submarine.

China might have built their best Subs but comparing with US :what:

I don't agree.:-)

But whereas the USN has 11 Virginia class, 3 Sea Wolf class and 43 Los Angeles class in commission, with 2 more LA class in reserve, plus 4 OHIO class converted from SSBN to SSGN (total 57 active, 2 reserve, with 5 more Virginia building and 2 more on order), the PLAN only has 3 old and noisy Type 091 Han, 2 Type 093 (with 4 more coming) and 1 Type 95 (with more coming) in service (total 6-10, with more on the way). And that is assuming the above claims are correct, which remains to be seen.

One could lump in China's 57 diesel-electric subs, but lets face it, they are not really a comparable asset. Besides, 17 of those are Ming class, which is an old and noisy design, and also the 13 Type 039 is no match in as far as quietness, diving depth, speed and such are concerned. One can wonder about Kilo and 039A in that respect.

MY SUBMARINE TECHNOLOGY IS WAY AHEAD OF ANY COUNTRIES'
(yes, lets all just shout something!)

:lol::rofl::sarcastic:

I could not find anything of this nature at sina.com. OP just brought a flame bait here. A wise person should not spread false info or deliberately fabricated rumors.

@waz this news has no origin or reference, pls close the thread.

China did not claim anything of the sort, the PLA does not make any claims regarding undisclosed programs. Xinhua and Peoples Daily are official sources, Sina is not. Moreover, this is an unsourced article, like Sanchez, I could not find this on Sina.

There needs to be minimum standards in regards to posting news on PDF. Even if it is a translated article, there needs to be a link to the original source.
