What's new

China renames a river because it sounds Arabic

We are not talking about Mao's time. It is specifically the years of 1962. The fertility rate actually collapsed during that time.

Also, you must know that fertility rates usually have very little to do with actual material well being.
In 1962 , it was a famine cause by mismanagement, no one wanted that to happen, it's a failed trial, but saying Mao killed those people is just evil propaganda, western media tries to make it sound like that Mao wanted and designed to kill the Chinese people, it's a very evil motive.

Macao is a country? Really???
Countries and regions.

@Bussard Ramjet Who made you a scholar on China?

Who asked for your input?

Indians should steer clear of these discussions, as they do not concern you.

When you stop massacring Indian Muslims and Kashmiris, you are welcome to give your input and have it heard.

It does, unless the material shortage is chronic.

It was not caused my mismanagement alone. It was caused by stupid policies of Mao. Those policies had earlier during Stalin years led to a similar famine in Ukraine and Russia.

The problem is that in your system, there is no accountability of the top leader like Mao or Xi. So they can do anything without any logic and you still have to follow them. It is only very late when things are adjusted.

Look at Peng Dehuai. He was basically imprisoned and died simply because of pointing out the error of the Great Leap Forward movement.

It does, unless the material shortage is chronic.

Nah, fertility rates usually have very little to do with material well being. Even for good material well being.

Fertility rates in modern countries have come down due to the following reasons:
  1. Working and Ambitious Women
  2. Extreme Individualism
  3. High Cost of raising the Child
  4. Housing costs in Cities
  5. Education of Women

Well I have just read a bit on China, and you can easily confirm what I say by simple googling.

But anyways, I won't post anything and come in between your discussion on Islam and China.

Let facts speak for themselves, PRC and republic of India were founded around same time with similar GDP, after 70 years development, the result is clear for everyone to see.

According to Gideon Polya, an Australian academic, Western imperialists in the early half of the 20th century resulted in the deaths of 1 billion human beings, due to well documented famines, engineered civil wars, and genocidal campaigns on mostly Muslim countries.

Today the global Muslim population is around 2.7 billion.

To add to that, 60% of global refugee populations are Muslims now, as a result of direct Western invasions or indirect civil wars, proxy wars.

A world-mafia which has exacted such terrible suffering on so much of the world, including its 25% Muslim population, should rescind any right to take any moral high ground.

You have the right answer here.

A few more questions every Chinese citizen should ask.

Who decides what is Chinese Islam? Non-Muslims or Muslims?

What would be the Chinese name for Hazrat Aisha (RA,) wife of Muhammad saws, mother of believers, and the great narrator/scholar of hadith?

Islam originated in Arabia, much like how Communism originated in Russia and Germany, Capitalism originated in Western Europe and the US, Christianity originated in Palestine, and Buddhism originated in Nepal.

China has borrowed much from other cultures and welcomed immigrants from all over the world to absorb them into their society.
You are right. But it is not a matter of who deciding what. As you said, China has borrowed or integrated many other cultures into its own social fabrics. It is a large capacity of doing so. However, it has its own unifying agent, which makes Chinese culture a distinct one, though always shifting. It is Chinese language. The only foreign cultures that will be adopted or integrated are those that present themselves in Chinese. Even foreign rulers who wanted to make their rule last had to adopt Chinese. Buddhists knew it. Christians knew it, too. Many very enlightened Buddhist masters strove to translate Buddhist scriptures from Sanskrit to Chinese. Their translation is so brilliant that it is now a part of Chinese heritage. Christian missionaries did the same, though not as lucky as Buddhists. Doesn't matter where a culture was originated, China can absorb into its own when it sees its brilliance. But it has to wear Chinese clothes. Even ruthless conquest could not make Chinese to bend this rule.

Let's fact speak for themselves, PRC and the Republic of Korea were founded basically around the same time, and now ROK has a GDP per capita that is 3.5 times that of PRC.

South Korea is so small, smaller countries are always easier to move up, that's common sense, big countries take much longer time. India has same size of population with China with similar GDP total and per capita, they are more comparable than Korea, Hong kong and Singapore.

The western media always try to demonize the Chinese government, but even they admit that Chinese government created the fastest growth ever happened in the whole human history.

Blackstone’s Schwarzman: China’s economic ‘miracle’ came at the expense of the US and the West

Stephen Schwarzman, the billionaire co-founder of investment powerhouse Blackstone, told CNBC on Tuesday that China knows it must change its trade and business practices but it’s reluctant to do so because of the spoils it’s reaped by protecting its economy.

“China in the last 40 years had more growth, I think, than any country in history.

South Korea has a population of around 50 million which is actually big. In fact in terms of resouces per capita, ROK has even fewer resources than China.

Also, India and China comparisons are not okay. We are a totally different culture with a totally different outlook. India (and the subcontinent) have many issues which China didn't, like caste and factionalism for example.
India also, to start off, had lower human capital than China.

Also, why exactly is North Korea so poor compared to South Korea?

North Korea today is the closest resemblance of China of Mao era.

That's like a little more than Shanghai's population, let's please accept common sense.

North Korea today is the closest resemblance of China of Mao era.
China isn't north korea, they have their system and we have ours, and ours work fine for us, you don't have to worry about our system , we never worried about yours.

Chinese government officials (not necessarily local leadership) and Chinese Islamic scholars need to sit down and decide the limits of this process and the acceptable/unacceptable manifestations of this.

Hazrat Aisha’s name is no threat to China, neither is Islam.

Actually this is a new opportunity for China to break from the West/Russian historic antagonism of Islam and present a new partnership.

You are not North Korea right now. But you once were pretty similar.

If there was no Deng Xiaoping, China would have been a large version of North Korea.

But the problem is that the current administration is undoing the wisdom of Deng Xiaoping.

Xi Jinping is building a cult of personality like Mao around him.

.
Yeah and I have said repeatedly that the conventional wisdom that small countries are richer is totally false.
When China wanted to develop a fishing village, Shenzhen, that's only 4 decades ago, and now Shenzhen overtook Hong kong in almost everything, not China as a whole can never develop that fast, cause it's so huge.

You are not North Korea right now. But you once were pretty similar.

That'll be our worries, not yours, and overall, this system serves us like magic, you better take care of yours first.
