Africa is full of young people but countries never progress. Same with Indian sub continent. Young people are a burden to society if they do not have good jobs and progress well. It causes increase in crime and war if there is not ample opportunities

By labour, I mean production costs. Labour is just one of them, China is relatively cheap in terms of labour, the second factor is the amount of workers you have. African, South Asian and ASEAN countries don't have nearly the amount of factories.

Add all of those countries together except India and you will get around 800 million citizens, around half of China's population, yet they produce together around the same amount.

So per capita, China's production capabilities are only half that of the rest of the countries in that list.

I still remember the days PDF Chinese fantasized the Chinese GDP would be 2-4x the size of the US economy. Now reality starts to set in

Also going to be the reason no other country or union will be allowed to eclipse the GDP of the US, including the collective EU. Which is why all those YouTube videos predicting China and India surpassing the US don’t take into account the US gets a vote. Besides the fact that the US has idea geography, and considerable R&D lead over these two nations, the US has stable demographics with immigration of the best talent from all over the world, especially from those two nations. Even when Japan looked like it was going be moving in that direction, the 1985 plaza accords saw the US putting in its two cents.

It’s not an insurmountable difference but it will literally mean moving heaven and earth to change the global order.
