NEW DELHI: Chinese PresidentXi Jinpingarrived inPakistanon Monday on a two-day visit when he is set to announce $46 billion of infrastructure projects and plans to sell submarines, deals that would cause discomfiture in India ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to Beijing next month.

Pakistan is China's oldest and closest ally in South Asia and their partnership has often been viewed in New Delhi as Beijing's tool to check India.

Xi, who was to visit Pakistan last year but had postponed it due to security concerns, is visiting Islamabad at a time when theModi governmentis trying to expand India's influence in the India Ocean Region and Asia Pacific. Since coming to power last May, the PM has undertaken visits to several countries in these regions.

I think that India needs to adjust himself state of mind.
Pakistan is iron brother of China,India not

OK, so this has no quotes from anyone and is more of an opinion piece than news and is a fertile troll feed - evident by your pouncing. The article itself mentions "would" and not "has".

India worried as China, Russia expand ties with Pakistan

The deepening economic and defence ties China and Russia are pursuing with Pakistan is worrying New Delhi and it is preparing to convey its concerns to Moscow and Beijing through diplomatic channels.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Islamabad early next week is expected to add momentum to the ambitious project of building an economic corridor linking northwestern China with southern Pakistan.

Beijing is understood to be planning to spend $46 billion for a series of infrastructure projects along the proposed economic corridor, which passes through areas, which India accuses Pakistan of illegally occupying. Xi’s visit to Islamabad is also likely see Beijing announcing its plan to supply eight submarines to Pakistan Navy.

Russia too of late moved to step up its defence ties with Pakistan and the two countries this week agreed to hold their first ever joint military exercise. Moscow is also purportedly planning to invest $2 billion to lay a Liquefied Natural Gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore.
Sources told Deccan Herald that New Delhi would lodge a strong protest with Beijing if the projects to be announced during Chinese President’s visit to Islamabad included any in Azad Kashmir.

This could even cast a shadow over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China next month, added sources.

New Delhi is likely to reiterate that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and any project undertaken by Pakistan — either on its own or in cooperation with China or any other country — in the territory under its “illegal occupation” would have “no legal basis and is completely unacceptable”.

India had previously conveyed to China its concerns about Chinese companies’ growing role in building infrastructure in Azad Kashmir.

The proposed projects include upgrading Karakoram Highway and construction of a 487 km-long highway from Raikot in Azad Kashmir to Islamabad – both by China Road and Bridge Corporation.

The Chinese government also launched a preliminary study on the feasibility of a project to lay a 1800-kilometer-long rail-line to link Kashgar in China and Gwadar Port on the southwestern coast of Pakistan through the Azad Kashmir.

Never seen Indians so worried or scared to this level in regards to Pak-China Friendship in the past.

Must be some secret military deals, pacts, etc. betwen Pakistan and China going on in the background that've not been made public as of yet.

And..what would India tell the Chinese and the Russians? Stay away from Pakistan and do business with India instead???
I've been writing about this day for over a year now. This is a failure on India's foreign policy's end, and similarly, the members on here, thought the same. Every post I wrote about this day when Pakistan was about to grow insanely fast, members from India bashed, made fun and called me a fool.

Here's what I would've done if I was Modi (and wanted to contain this situation), instead of trying to bit*ch slap and threaten Pakistan, I would've seen this development and I would've joined into the economic corridor. That way, India would've had serious influence on China and Pakistan, and life on the South Asian planet would've changed for good and towards greater peace.

Instead, India decided to play bull in a China shop. Too many threats, grandiose statements, etc, etc, well the economic corridor goes from China, Pakistan to the Central Russian States and then to Russia itself, and later to Eastern Europe. India would've to join in or USE the same highway to send her own goods and services. But, China and Pakistan have gone beyond everything. This relationship IMO is second to or equal to the US-Israel's relationship. Unbreakable!!! At this point, India just has to join in, which would be good for this region's peace and stability.

I think now Gwadar and Jiwani would be developed very soon and Karachi's real estate will soon sea a downfall in terms of pricing.

So the glorious partership between Pakistan and China has culminated as a RANDI. :p:

Just what one would expect. :enjoy:

Taller than a mountain, deeper than the ocean found new meaning :D
