I would like to believe the main reasoning behind the policy of no first use of nuclear weapons for China and India was specifically created based on the dynamics between the four nations mentioned in the article. Another secondary reason that exists these days is with how both countries intend on heavily usage of anti-ship ballistic missiles in future wars and do not want their enemies to assume they have launched nuclear tipped ballistic missiles.
