Pakistan government is working to improve the workforce’s skill needed for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s second phase. Government has decided to upgrade the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes all over Pakistan through transferring modern Chinese apparatus. Pakistan is competing with regional neighbours in increasing productivity of its medium-skilled labour. The targeted cities for this up-gradation are Bahawalpur, Jehlum, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Gwadar, Lasbela, Larkana, Hyderabad, Gilgit, and Mirpur. With Chinese Collaboration, students and trainer exchange programs are also likely to be launched under this project.

Planning and Development Minister Khusro Bakhtyar says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be a harbinger of development and prosperity for Pakistan and the region.

He expressed these views while chairing the 58th Progress Review Meeting of CPEC projects in Islamabad on Friday.

Chinese ambassador Yao Jing, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and representatives from Chinese enterprises and senior officials also attended the meeting. The Minister said the incumbent government, in consultation with the Government of China, has succeeded in expanding its scope to include other priority areas under its framework including socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, agricultural and industrial cooperation. The Minister reiterated that the government remains fully committed to realize the potential and opportunities under CPEC framework.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese ambassador Yao Jing said CPEC is heading in the right direction. He added that CPEC is quite different from other Belt and Road initiatives as this flagship project manifests the longstanding friendship between the two friendly countries and will bring prosperity and progress for Pakistan.

More Chinese FDI coming into Pakistan.
CPEC is about laying the trellis. It is for Pakistani's entrepreneurs to use the opportunity offered and develop industries that use and leverage what CPEC has laid down. Similiar to how plants grow use a trellis to grow.

Good news is this is happening. The early shoots of growth are begining to appear along the newly opened infrastructure. Below new industrial zone or M-4 industrial SEZ near Faisalabad. At nearly 4 miles on the axis of M-4 motorway this is impressive development taking place.
