China, Pakistan deepen Sri Lanka ties at India’s expense

This place is so full of hatred. It makes me absolutely sick to see people taking jibes at each other as part of their everyday routine. You're all a disgrace to humanity.

I do know who Madrasi's were.. And what they are now(Atleast as far as i'm concerned).. Let me put it this way.. Malayalee's, Kannadiga's or Telingu people were very unfortunate to be associated with the term.. They are proud people and are far from being subservient indentured slaves for the British colonists Thankfully they are not identified with it any more..unlike the rest of the jokers
FYI!..I am a Telugu Guy!..from Madras/Chennai....Please don't put it any way..your opinions means sqat("Malayalee's, Kannadiga's or Telingu people were very unfortunate to be associated with the term..").....We are all proud Indians first then only come the regionalism part....Hope your Tamil population in SL feel the same way..when that happens you can express your stupid senseless opinions regarding the same.

And FYI...Madarasi does not mean Tamilian/Tamils/Religion or Language..its a Location...Just like calling a person from Bombay as Bombaite....there you go i spelled it for you..

Well then it is you who need to read up on history not me.. And pls do not bring our Tamil brethren to the equation.. Ask any Vellaya Jaffna Tamil and you will get what they really think about Madrasi's.. And it wont be pleasant

You cant belittle a whole nation how ever big or small and expect responses to be civil.. And this is not a generalization.. Only regarding a few

This place is much better than Indo-Pakistan thread or Indo-China threads. Ban couple of borderline trollers and these threads will be fine.

Are you a Vellaya Jaffna Tamil?...if not I think you should keep your Fairytale stories to yourself....Even I can give you examples of what SL Tamils say about Singalese as well (I know they are from SL..because of the Tamil Accent which is very different) ..but I dont have any proof other than hearsay..see where I going with this!

Mine was a full on generalisation about this forum itself. That post wasn't directed to you in particular, but since you talk about being civil, you do realise you have a problem don't you? ... and a peculiar one at that - the way you use the name 'Madrasi' as an insult i.e. You just can't seem to shake it off, can you? If you think two wrongs make a right vis a vis hitting back with responses to what you think are uncivil statements, all I've got to say is that it's time to be the bigger man. Seriously.

Well it does not take a genius to know the animosity between SL Tamil Diaspora and Sinhalese is it ? Still does'nt change the fact that you know very little about colonial history and terms that came with it in southern parts of India.. So untill you do i dont see the point of discussing it

Btw i know a whole lot on the politics and social aspects of TN than you think.. So spare me the lecture

I have mentioned it before.. That term is specific to particular section of people, It should not deemed to be offensive unless you put the hat on so to speak.. And No it does not address people of TN or Tamilians or southern Indians for that matter.. Purely a political term.. And i have reiterated this numerous times

I apologize if you think I was lecturing you...I was not I don't care what happens in SL..thats your headache...was just trying to correct you, when you started your rant on Madrasi's...You call the three decade Civil war in SL as animosity...you my friend are in denial.

No you misconstrued.. I did not say 3 decades of civil war was because of animosity.. It was certainly a factor but not the whole story.. But that a side it was to state the obvious of what you posted

Again about the term Madrasi.. Refer to the above post to bombaywalla

Why should I refer to the post to @Bombaywalla. You made it sound like Kannadigas, Telugus and Malayalees were very unfotunate to be assosiated with the "MADRAS PRESIDENCY"...Below is the quote from you.

("Malayalee's, Kannadiga's or Telingu people were very unfortunate to be associated with the term..")...

With all due respect, you can "reiterate" your justification for the use of the word all you want; it doesn't change the fact that you have an OBVIOUS chip on your shoulder, and that the use of the word the way you do gives you a certain amount of pleasure, or some kind of temporary relief from whatever stress it is you're facing. If anything, I find it hilarious that you continue to do what you do in a belligerent, almost teenager-like fashion. I'm pretty sure you're better than that in real life.

Oh no mistake.. I'm antipathetic to those who are hostile to my country of birth.. And in general it's a specific group of people.. And i have no qualms about using the term or do not seek apology for it.. Show civility and you will get reciprocated.. Simple

Again it's pointless arguing the fact since you cant grasp the nuances of it..

...Alright...suit yourself....Again..to make it clear....After independence...Malayalee's, Kannadiga's and Telingu people were all very proud to be part of the MADRAS PRESIDENCY in free India.

"Madrasi". but it sounds cool... "mad'...'rasi'.
