Recently Standard Chartered Bank has predicted Bangladesh will have 5700 USD per capita GDP by 2030. With 7% GDP growth economy double every seven years. That means by 2037 it will double to 11400 usd per capita gdp if Bangladesh can maintain 7% gdp growth. Within next 4 year assuming Bangladesh will maintain 7% gdp growth it is possible. It may be missed by few years due to lower growth.

International Banks have their own reasons to predict this and that for a country. They will reverse the prediction once things go another way. I ask you to predict when BD will successfully manufacture the machines to produce nails or manufacture its own farm machines/tools etc. etc. Thousands and thousands of manufacturing plants are required to be in the league of developing countries.

You have to go to Singapore or even Thailand to see what a developed society means. China, with all its manufacturing plants and industrial might, still remains a developing country whereas Japan or Korea are developed countries. You have to understand the difference.

Comparing to a developed Japan, China is nothing when you go out of those beautiful airports. But, how come you guys talk about a developed status for BD when it still remains an underdeveloped country and has not even reached the economic take-off stage to be a developing country.

When Russia, with all its technology, still is hovering around a less than $11,000 per capita GDP, you guys predict a $15,000 GDP for BD by 2041. What a joke!!! At least, manufacture some of your own machines. Russia is building nuclear plants in BD. Can your BUET graduates go to Russia to build one in 2041? It is not possible even in 3041.

Not exactly. I was expecting a specific answer to my specific question. Not only machine for manufacturing nails, but a country needs millions of other types of machines to build a modern economy. When countries like Vietnam, India, and Indonesia are doing all the necessary preliminary works to build up their industries, it is the people of BD who just keep on dreaming cake eating without doing the slightest fundamental works. Only cheap talks and a dream to eat a free lunch!!

U can't grow an industry out of thin air.

Textile industry that earns the major portion of our foreign currency didn't grow out in few days. It takes time for a country to become fully industrialised.

Bangladesh is already making different types of high quality products but u aren't aware of it.

Look at the growth of our pharmaceutical industry. Yes, our ldc status has helped us in this regard, but atleast we have managed to capitalised on it.

Lastly, BAL as a party is 100 times better than a party like BNP. As a leader hasina is in a different league compared to thief khaleda and her son tarique chora.

Our ease of doing business is below afganistan the country that's suffering from war for almost 40 years. Just try to build a house bd from personal experience I can see it takes a year just to get utility connections...have to pay bribe even to get electric meter...water connection...get building approval ? Yes again pay bribe....your cost of doing business is too high too complicated. Land records are all paper based..property rights are not there... Just talk and talk...inflation based GDP growth and fudgeing data. Selling underwear in zero tariff market will make us most developed country with help of artificial intelligence
