It's gonna be awkward when China and US Mars rover see each other

Really naive question on my part but why is it called "Long March" and what does Tianwen mean? Hopefully someone can educate me on this

This man is the epitome of the Chinese spirit. Little talk but great determination and spirit. Only on the greatest day of achievement, his emotions finally overcome him for a brief moment. That’s the spirit of a great persevering and serious people.

30 years? Are you serious? There are some apsect which American even need to learn from China like 5G, Quantum Space communication, Electric propulsion system and railgun. China already has a working 5G unmanned drone transport system while US are still scratching their head to figure out their system and management.

The most US lead China by 10 years.

Better to stay humble and keep striving than become full of hubris and self delusion.

What a day! Long March 5 + Chang'e 5 combo really proved itself on the moon, bringing back the first moon sample since 1976. Next up. Long March 9 + Tianwen 2 combo bring back first Mars sample. Should be good to go before 2030. Exciting days ahead for China's space program.

Probe makes historic landing on Mars

A Chinese spacecraft successfully landed on the surface of Mars on Saturday morning, marking a historic accomplishment in China's space endeavors and making it the second country in the world to achieve the feat.
