China launches new Hefei-Bengbu high-speed railway

In addition to HSR stations， Hefei，a 2nd-tier city and capital of Anhui province，is also getting a new airport。Located 31.8km from the city centre, Hefei Xinqiao International Airport will replace the current Heifei Luogang Airport when completed.

The new airport will be built in 3 phases. Phase I started on December 19 2008, and will open in February 2013. Phase I project costs 4.305 billion yuan, targeting a capacity of 11 million pax, 150k ton freight. All phases will be completed with a pax of 42 million, 580k ton freight.
