China keen to sell indigenous combat helicopter to India

The helicoptor is not a bad item as some of my fellow country men are portraying it.
Though its a generation old, its a good one. But at the moment our needs are different and we are eying Apache Long Bow to be added to our arsenal. Besides I am hoping that this offer can be used to have some joint venture in a new Heli Development between the two nations.

No, You misunderstood him, that's just polite words. I think that the first customer is Pakistan, not India

Really? Did the Pakistan Defence Ministry confide this information with you? Did the Pakistan Army Aviation corps give you a presentation on their perspective plans on future chopper acquisitions? Don't just 'think' and spew twaddle when you know squat.

Secondly, the Chinese would probably booby trap their choppers before selling them to India.

This is not costly compare to similar leagues of helicopter in western countries..
India should look it. There is nothing wrong if you can purchase 40 helicopter with similar capabilities Instead of 28 helicopter.

rather we will use this unique oppertunity to work with the Chinese in a JV to build some thing entierly new.
Besides Apache is a geneartion ahead of Z-9. that does not mean that Z-9 does not suite us, yes it does in reconnaissance missions, but we already are in the process of building our own LCH for that purpose.

When one buys foreign weapons, one often looks into other parameters such as Battle-proven, supply, ToT etc.

Not sure if most of the Chinese weapons are battle, even though there cheap and robust.

China wants itself to be seen in a position that US and Russia had been enjoying so far. certainly they will like to sell these helis to us to show off their mighty power and its not bad for their economy too. But there is every possible chance of these helis to be bugged by chinese intel; So better not to get excited by the offer, and go for Apache if we are really in a desperate need of those.

Tell me, which countries is Customers of India's weapons? You eyes only money for paying.
I found that most Indians is nothing but Ignorant ridicule. So I finally understand this reason why China never see India as a threat. China are false reports about India.
Continue to do so, I'm glad to see these. :yahoo:

Do some research before you fart here because of your hurt ego.

Is there any need for such helicopter..? LCH should fare well against this.

Yeah your wright butdo we really need to buy them especially when we already have Dhruv WSI and LCH ??? I mean yes its low cost and rugged but still a foreign platform ...... and about the news I don't about others but I am personelly happy to see the growing understanding b/w the two nations...

Errr Do you know that the Army's aviation wing also does the maintainance work of the helos and in that process they often comes to know about each and every part of the machine they are flying and also we are talking about India here which has already made a helo of its own ...... I mean comon its not that simple to fool us by selling us something spooky.

I have reservations about this, why would China want to hand over years of R&D over to Indian hands? Especially when India has an operational Heli program of their own and can easily integrate Chinese R&D into their program. Secondly, the Chinese know that India will not agree to accept Chinese control over any aspect of their defence production because in case India has to deploy them against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh (all Chinese allies), China can easily discontinue supply of parts and service. That would leave India with a fleet that just looks good on the tarmac, not in the air.
