whats the big deal? it's not just islam, but all religions. Non-state-sanctioned churches have been raided, etc. This Xinjiang muslims are under constant surveillance because of the terrorist and separatist factor- and not becos of their religion. Have they been Hindus, they would also have been under 24/7 surveillance and prevented from preaching.

Hui Muslims in China can be considered to be the happiest Muslims in the world- they enjoy patronage by the state and the government is very supportive and tolerant of their religious activity- simply because they do not promote terrorism or separatism.

Religion is toxic to the godless Chinese, but no1 is being stopped from practicing it- as long as allegiance to the state is upheld.

Nation above religion.

For without the nation, there will not be the existence of a sovereign entity for u to practice your religion in.

This is why the formal Chinese characters for 'nation/country' = 国家 (lit. 'country + home')

With the country/nation, there can be no home and without a home- there can be no religion to be practiced in.

I dont live in China, so how do i know?

Because this basic life philosophy is what i have been taught in school by my Chinese language teacher in the multi-religious society that i live in.

China has several thousand years history, and our mainstream are atheist,Confucius have no religion.
We have experienced religion issues many many times, too painful,every religion is stupid and dangerous,especially new religion.

due to Chinese are Atheist, we can accept any religion.
in fact, religion issues are financial affairs for china. government is collecting taxes，and religious organizations are also collecting contributions just like taxes. government collect more taxes from the rich， less taxes from the poor. but religious organizations are not, they collecting money as much as possible, especially from those poorest grass roots.
So more religion, more poor people, less tax, and result weaker government.

In those thousands of years, how long have you been completely atheist. Or say majority of your population being atheist?

Chinese as far as I see are pseudo atheists. They are highly superstitious. Chinese may not follow any mainstream religion, but they are deeply entrenched in superstition.

And many of them believe in the spirits of the ancestors.

Secondly, China is a highly westernized society which always tries to copy the west. Even the ideology of communism is a western idea no matter how many times you try to make it 'Chinese' by quoting ancient texts. Every religion has some qualities that can be attributed to communism and socialism.

Believing in god doesn't make a person stupid.
