Anyone with some logic thinking knows China would never use nuclear attacks on Taiwan. Why would China want to turn Taiwan into an radioactive island and want all its people to die? Like you said conventional weapon is more than enough to make them surrender. This article coming from an American wants to stir up trouble and trying to make the people in Taiwan fear China for no reason. You really have to wonder how sincere the Americans are about the unification between China - Taiwan and North Korea - South Korea in the future. Afterall selling weapons to Taiwan and South Korea is big business.

one can also argue that mad works because so far few countries have the bomb, the more countries that have it, the greater the chance of accidents casing the Apocalypse, heck we all know that US and SU have had many close calls
