New Delhi: The whole country is in mourning due to the death of India's first Chief of Defense Staff means CDS General Bipin Rawat. His helicopter crashed at Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. 13 persons including CDS Rawat and his wife Madhulika died in the accident. The brainstorming has started and many experts have taken a stand on the tragedy. A tweet by Brahma Chellaney, an expert, land strategist, and writer on international security and arms control issues, is in the news. Even the Chinese media Global Times has responded to it in a series of responses.

In fact, Professor Chellaney tweeted one after the other about CDS Rawat's helicopter crash. Through these tweets, he uncovered the horror similarities between CDS Rawat and Taiwan's general chief, who took an aggressive stand against China, over the helicopter crash. The Global Times expressed displeasure over Chellaney's tweets referring to China and said that according to his perspective, the US can also be doubted. Then, Prof. Chellaney also replied to the Global Times. In his first tweet, Prof. Chellaney wrote that border tensions with China in the last 20 months have led to war like situations on the Himalayan front and at that time, the tragic death of India's CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 other military personnel in a helicopter crash could not have happened at a worse time.

In another tweet, he wrote that there are scary similarities between the death of General Rawat and the death of Taiwan's general chief of staff. In early 2020, the helicopter of General Shane Yi-Ming, the Chief of General Staff of Taiwan, crashed and seven persons, including two prominent generals, were killed in the accident. In both these helicopter accidents, special personalities from both the countries who were very important faces against China's aggression died. In his next tweet, he wrote that these strange similarities do not mean that there is a connection or an external force in both helicopter accidents. In any case, every accident has raised important questions within the country, especially the maintenance of military helicopters carrying top generals. The Global Times retweeted Chellaney's tweet and wrote sarcastically that from this point of view, the US could also play a role in the helicopter crash as India and Russia are moving ahead with the S-400 missile defense system and the US has strongly opposed the deal.

Professor Chellaney also retweeted the Global Times tweet on how china's state-run media mouthpiece is trying to create misunderstanding through my tweet thread that the US is behind CDS Rawat's helicopter crash as India is entering into an S-400 missile deal with Russia. These tweets reflect the corrupt mindset of the Chinese administration. In another tweet, Prof. Chellaney said that General Rawat, who was able to think clearly and clearly defended India, had become India's face on China's aggression. While the political leadership continued to refrain from naming China, it was CDS Rawat who kept the truth before the people without any lag-wrapped up. It will not be easy to compensate General Rawat at all

Twitter sees link between Rawat crash, Taiwan accident. Chinese media isn't pleased

Shen Yi-ming, 7 others were killed when the helicopter they were on crashed in 2020

Conspiracy theories have emerged after the crash of an Indian Air Force helicopter on Wednesday killed chief of defence staff general Bipin Rawat and 12 others.

Many social media users alleged China could have orchestrated the incident, given the ongoing standoff with Ladakh. Many of these conspiracy theories referred to a similar accident in Taiwan last year.

In early January 2020, Taiwan's chief of general staff general Shen Yi-ming and seven others were killed when the helicopter they were on crashed in mountains near Taipei. Shen was the senior-most official in the Taiwanese military and a key figure in its air force. The helicopter that crashed was a US-made UH-60M Black Hawk.

Eminent strategic analyst Brahma Chellaney was among those who referred to the Taiwan crash on Wednesday evening. He tweeted, “Gen. Rawat's death has an eerie parallel with the helicopter crash in early 2020 that killed Taiwan's chief of general staff, Gen. Shen Yi-ming, and seven others, including two major generals. Each helicopter crash eliminated a key figure in the defense against PRC's aggression.”

However, he emphasised the crashes were not necessarily connected. Chellaney wrote, “The strange parallel doesn't mean there was any connection between the two helicopter crashes or an outside hand. If anything, each crash has raised important internal questions, especially about maintenance of military helicopters transporting top generals.”

Interestingly, China's state-run Global Times took note of Chellaney's tweet. The Global Times handle claimed Chellaney's view was akin to suspecting the US was involved in the crash that killed Rawat due to its opposition to India's decision to buy the S-400 missile system from Russia.

Global Times tweeted, “This view is like suspecting the US played a role in the crash because India and Russia are moving forward with the delivery of a Russian S-400 missile defense system, which the US strongly opposed.”

Chellaney accused the Global Times of misusing his tweet and argued its response “sadly points to the depraved mindset of the CCP folks”.

Chellaney had noted the death of Rawat during the “warlike situation along the Himalayan front” could not have come at a “worse time”.

LTF backed is active in the area isnt it ?

If some from India are indicating towards the said possibility; it should be encouraged. It serves the interests of both China and Pakistan. This theory shall be given currency.

If China actually did it(they didn’t), then that means they must have an intelligence network so advanced, that they can somehow sabotage deep in enemy territory, a helicopter used by the highest echelons of the Indian Army.

Impressive indeed. That is of course, if the Indians say so. If they didn’t say so, then that means the IA is incompetent as hell to let their General ride and die on a shitty heli. Literally no way out of this fallacy.
