China, India should drop obsolete view for cooperation

To all the crooks who think China alone can stop India from getting into NSG. FYI, NSG is an organization working based on consensus. When 44/48 members back a decision the remaining 4 (3 of them not having any direct concern towards the issue) will think twice on their stance for it could potentially isolate and expose them. One open question. Does china have the balls to openly oppose and antagonize India ? Is it capable of isolating India single-handedly ?

This is exactly what was speculated to happened during India's NSG waiver.

But since most of the Chinese members I have interacted here believe India's NSG waiver was a bilateral issue between India and US without any involvement from NSG or China, its pointless to expect a proper response from them.

A huge contract was signed by Andhra Pradesh with Chinese real estate firm for development of their new capital just days after this whole NSG episode.

People dont seem to understand the level of interaction going on between India and China today.

How will India get NSG membership if China vetoes it and it will keep vetoing it until it wishes.

That is a diplomatic challenge !

China is saying that non NPT members should not be allowed entry, but USA and others are working on changing the rules(even though it is not mandatory) to admit non NPT members.

Then China will not have the NPT trump card, to deny !

1-That's not how diplomacy works,China doesn't gains or loses anything if India joins NSG but they still blocked it

India got its NSG waiver in 2008, when China was a member.

As long as you have a good stick you can force them to get your things done. Take a cue from Russians and Americans on how they deal with the Chinese.

We are talking about nuclear tech here not world war 3 ,i doubt whether other members would be of any use when it comes to sharing nuclear tech
