China fears young people are addicted to video games. Now it's imposing a curfew

Video games are an escape. I agree children need their video game usage limited, but minimizing stress in the society and encouraging kids to participate in productive group activities outdoors should also be done. Build recreation centers and providing trips to nature can help minimize the need for social interaction online.

1,5 hours a day isn't that small for a young person. If he studies, he is off for a lot of hours, then he need to do homework, help parents, etc. And in the end, can play some games.

what about social interaction with his friends. Kids need time to play IRL (in real life) with other kids, in natural environments or play places to build up a good sense of themselves and positive interactions with others. Human ties in your own peer group really help people deal with stress. Parents are most important but friends are important too.

Useless, minors will use adult ID card to register in the game.:D

When I was in elementary school, I registered with my parents' ID card to get rid of the playing time limit for minors.

There was solution ten years ago.

游戏同好群里的未成年女孩现在仍有一个月充值上千的,没遇到什么问题。

In addition, I suspect that this policy is learned from South Korea.

They has announced a curfew on online gaming for minors in 2016. :P

At the end, it's all up to the parents. If they allow you to do it, then nothing that can stop you from playing. The problem is, it's also parents responsible for their kids not to play video games for days without end.

Wow, I am surprised that I agree with China on something. This is a very good idea. I'm actually worried they aren't going far enough. 90 minutes a day is a long time for video games.

I play 王者荣耀 and the game keeps on requesting me to register my ID, which obviously I can't because I'm a foreigner. Nothing happened though, I can still continue the game.
