China did not test hypersonic nuclear missile, foreign ministry says

Orbital bombardment. Wow.

China is either downplaying the test or the US is overstating the capability to justify their own.

.
US knows and realizes that it has fallen behind China in the Tech race. It would be very difficult for the US to catch up with China now. It is very well known that China can do things at a fraction of the cost that of the US. US was always was betting on being ahead in the Tech not cost. Now both Tech and cost advantage are with China.

Doubt its very difficult to catch up to China considering where we at in hypersonic tech.

.
You're right I am 100% sure Zhao Lijian speaks the truth: It's a sat-like orbital device plus hypersonic vehicle, not a missile, and absolutely not nuclear.

Think I read some Chinese poster in the forum said it landed at a civilian airport in Mongolia. That true?

Ain't sure cos I haven't read anything like that, interesting though perhaps I may check it out later.

The other day during the virtual summit, President Biden was literally begging President Xi not to get into a war.

Allies of the US are realizing that US is in no position to defend them against Chinese aggression and mending relations with China instead.

Because war is not good for the human race. You know what will happen. Also thats the allies choice if they think mending relations will be the way to go, but considering whats happening with the Philippines where China just attacked a resupply ship and their President thought they had good relations, its not going to work.

The issue is not what aggressive actions China is taking against other countries but what actions (or should I say inactions) that US is taking to defend her so called allies. US is failing her allies and Allies of the US are forced to look at alternate options due to lack of US support.

You think Japan and the Philippines will resort to having nukes to protect themselves from China's aggression along with Australia? Even China is freaking out about Aussies having nuclear submarines even though they are not nuclear armed.

The issue is US will not allow Japan have nukes. The current pacifist constitution was imposed by US herself. US neither protects Japan nor will allow Japan to become stronger to defend herself. That is the issue.

Why do you think China is afraid of Australian nuclear submarines? Because China has increased sanctions against Australia?
I'm sorry, the Chinese don't care what submarines Australia bought.

LOL! China says otherwise.

China on Thursday slammed a decision by the United States and Britain to share sensitive nuclear submarine technology with Australia, a move seen as a direct challenge to Beijing and its growing military ambitions.

After President Biden’s announcement on Wednesday of a new defense alliance, to be known as AUKUS, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian described the agreement as “extremely irresponsible” while Chinese state media warned Australia that it was now an “adversary” of China and should “prepare for the worst.”
At a regular news briefing in Beijing, Zhao said the alliance “seriously undermined regional peace and stability, aggravated the arms race and hurt international nonproliferation efforts.”
U.S. will share nuclear submarine technology with Australia as part of new alliance, a direct challenge to China
He accused the United States and Britain of “double standards” and using nuclear exports as a “tool in their geopolitical games,” as he admonished them to “abandon their outdated Cold War mentality” — a common refrain from ministry spokespeople.

“Otherwise, they will only shoot themselves in the foot,” he added.

The Chinese people's discussion on Australian nuclear submarines focuses on here: after the USA began to deliver Australian nuclear submarines in 2040, which country is the dominant country in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia or Indonesia?

In 2040, China's GDP should be twice that of the USA. Who cares about Australia's nuclear submarines.

Do you think China is afraid of Australia by accusing Australia? Let me remind you that China accused Lithuania the day before yesterday.

China is not afraid but is exposing US double standards. If the US can share nuke tech with Australia then China can share nuke tech with Pakistan, Iran and North Korea.

You think Japan should have nuclear weapons? Recently, the U.S. allowed South Korea to extend the range of their ballistic missiles to hit all of North Korea. Perhaps the U.S. will allow Japan with similar accomodations with nukes and ballistic missiles. Japan is already building their own carriers and other weaponry.

SEOUL — South Korea can now develop ballistic missiles capable of reaching targets far beyond the Korean Peninsula, following the United States’ approval to lift a 42-year-old restriction on its ally’s missile development program.

South Korean and U.S. leaders announced the termination of missile guidelines imposed on Seoul in 1979. At the time, South Korea wanted to acquire American technology to develop its own missiles, and in return, the Asian nation agreed to limit the range of its missiles to 180 kilometers with a maximum payload of 500 kilograms.

In the face of increasing threats from North Korea, the guidelines have been revised four times. A 1997 revision allowed Seoul to develop a ballistic missile carrying a 500-kilogram warhead with a maximum range of 300 kilometers. Another revision was made in 2012 that extended the ballistic missile range to 800 kilometers with a 500-kilogram warhead.

Following Pyongyang’s sixth nuclear test in 2017, Seoul and Washington agreed to scrap the limit on warhead weight, and another revision was made in 2020 to allow the development of solid-propellant space rockets.

“I’m pleased to announce the end of the missile guidelines,” President Moon Jae-in said during a joint news conference at the White House in Washington on May 21, following his summit with U.S. President Joe Biden. “This is a symbolic and substantive measure to demonstrate the solidity of the ROK-U.S. alliance along with the conclusion of the bilateral defense cost agreement in the early days of the Biden administration’s inauguration.”

Then China shouldn't be worry and making such statements. Perhaps a dozen nuclear submarines can cause chao to their fleets and bases.

Conventional Missiles will not do the job. North Korea has nuke tipped missiles ready to pulverize South Korea and Japan. SK and Japan needs Nukes to defend. US needs to allow this.
