Citizenship Amendment Bill had dented the chances of BJP by a big margin, whole of NE was up in protest. Thankfully, they allowed the bill to lapse and situation calmed down. In Assam, BJP has forged alliance with the largest regional party AGP but its erstwhile leader Prafulla Mahanta has been kept out, Bodos and other autonomous councils are supporting BJP. In states other than Assam(except Tripura) coalitions would have to work their magic. Not many LS seats in NE though, is it? BJP's Himanta Biswa Sharma is expected to play a crucial part, lot hinges on him.
