Months before resumption of the defence dialogue between India and China, a patrol party of the People’s Liberation Army attempted to cross a 200-foot wall on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on July 13.

The wall of loose stones was constructed 250 metres inside Indian territory in the Yangtse area of Tawang. Indian troops prevented the PLA’s attempt, Defence Minister A K Antony informed the Rajya sabha on Wednesday.

The stone-wall – a wind-breaker – which was partially damaged by PLA, has been reconstructed, the minister said, adding that a strong protest has been lodged with the Chinese side on the actions of the PLA patrol in a flag meeting.

Due to the lack of common delineation in the Line of Actual Control between India and China, the perception of the LAC is different in different areas. Both sides patrol depending on their respective perceptions of the LAC due to the differences in corder alignment.

On Monday, Antony told the Lok Sabha about 24 violations of Indian airspace between January 2009 and November 2011 by other countries, though he did not name any foreign nation.

Earlier this month India and China held their annual defence dialogue after a hiatus in Delhi. The bilateral military meeting assumed additional significance in the wake of the sudden cancellation of boundary talks between the two neighbours, which was to discuss a new border dispute settlement mechanism.

The old threads were about the PLA demolishing "Indian bunkers" across the LoC.

At that time, the Indians there were all screaming "We'll get revenge, just you wait!!!" :P

Now it's a long time afterwards, and they have something new to promise revenge about. It's a wall this time.

it is in South Tibet, it is Chinese land.

In 62, Chinese over ran this region, they later withdrew. If it was theirs as claimed, why did they withdraw ?

Either they were stupid then to have withdrawn form ' their territory" or are stupid now to claim something they once had and returned .

As regards making India accept, no one can do this. The only option is to accept status quo.

we make new countries when someone is in the process of "making us accept" something ;

hope you take care of Tibet while in that process.

Arunachal, still today, is an integral part of India! Elections are held, our military stays there and all PLA keeps doing is ingress 50/200 mts. and say - looooooook we painted it red and ran away. :P

Tell me, what did the Indian Army do when we took Arunachal Pradesh in 1962? :azn:

You never actually took it back, we withdrew voluntarily back to the LoC after beating you.

what were you doing these much years?

now dont give exmple of 1962, it happened in disputed area ( in that war India got 32,000 square miles (8.3 million hectares, 83,000sq.km.) of disputed territory)

on other hand you guys are not able to take an inch of AP

i guess recent wall demolition was result of our innocent wanderings in Vietnam
