China continues military support to Pakistan, shipyards readying 4 frigates by April 2023

New Delhi: China's military support to Pakistan continues, with its shipyards readying four frigates by April 2023. The Pakistan Navy, currently headed by a distant relative of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, have been promised four Type 054A/P frigates between September this year and April 2023. They are being built by the China Shipbuilding and Trading Co. at the Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai.
Steel cutting and keel laying for all four are already complete and all four are to be launched by the end of the year. The delivery dates are also decided. The first ship is To be delivered in September 2021. Then, the next two frigates will be delivered in April and September 2022. The fourth and final frigate will be handed over in April 2023.
Chinese sniper rifles
Pakistani forces, including their Rangers, who are similar to the Indian Border Security Force, are being issued Chinese made sniper rifles, sources said.
Earlier this month, according to reports, the Rangers in the Narowal area, opposite Hiranagar and Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir were issued sniper rifles. This isn't the first time either. Sniper rifles have been issued to Rangers located in nearby areas.
