BEIJING, Sept. 23 (APP) -- China’s central authorities sent a congratulatory message to the local counterparts in the northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the country’s first ethnic autonomous region.

The signatories included the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council (Cabinet), the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the Central Military Commission.

The message called the 50th anniversary a major event in the history of the development of ethnic relations in China and “a new chapter for the development of Ningxia.”

It hailed the historic changes that have taken place in Ningxia over the past five decades, particularly since the beginning of China’s reform and opening-up drive.

The “historic changes” refer to the sustained and fast economic growth in Ningxia, the marked improvement of living standard of local people, the continuous upgrading of regional autonomy system in ethnic areas, and overall social progress.

It pledged that the Party and government will, as always, create more favorable conditions for the autonomous region to achieve sound and rapid development.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

Ningxia is an in-land region, where is the beach? Is it Qinghai lake or somewhere else?

The mosque looks like a replica of Taj Mahal.

you mean the second one?
I have the same feeling, it's a newly built muslim culture centre in Yinchuan, not a mosque in real meaning.

btw neo, would you tell me the difference between Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid al-Fitr and Id al-Fitr?

it's a muslim touring group (organised at a "Chinese muslim youth forum", website as displayed on the green flag) at Nandaihe (秦皇岛南戴河).

actually there're quite a few lakes in Yinchuan, Shahu lake for example, a lake in desert.

That must be a wonder ful place, to be!
honestly its hard to believe while looking at picture that it is a lake!
it seems sooo like sea. ;)

I must visit China some day but first I would like to get knowledge about the must see places.
I like nature more, so if any hints will come I will sabe the names for my dream holidays.

dont mix it up, the pic gpit quoted is seabeach (Nandaihe, a popular offshore resort in east Hebei Province ), and the Shahu lake is a real inland lake:P

anyway a medium shot can make Qinhai lake really look like the sea. it's the biggest salt-logoon in China, covering 4,583km² area.

Thanks for the info and clarification  ... It helps to remind me good old time and that I nearly drown myself in 北戴河 many decades ago though I was pretty good at swimming...LOL
