China Coast Guard said that they will need to improve offshore capability against Vietnam and Phillipines ship
patrolling. It is estimated that the new ships would have a displacement of 2000-3000 tonnes with to be constructed at local shipyards: Huangpu shipyard, Wuchang shipyard and Jiangnan Changxingdao shipyard.
They said that it will be in service the next decade by 2020.
Construction would start in a few years as the earliest by local Chinese news,
it will contain landing deck plus new crane's but no image at this time.
It will be deployed in South China Sea and East China Sea
