China chases away Japanese from Diaoyu Island

^^^^

Who is going to press the red button first?

Japan knows China won't.
US knows China won't.
China has a NFU declaration.

So back to you suggest that Japan to go nuclear - there is no need.

As a matter of fact, in today's world, China and Japan are not going to fire a bullet at each other INTENTIONALLY.

Things will be resolved in time.

so does China. Especially their naval arm.

You're going to find that US's limits are going to increase significantly over the years as Chinese naval presence increases with new warships and submarines added to it's fleet year-on-year. US is eventually going to feel unsafe having it's navy exposed to the Chinese Navy as the quantity increases in China's favour. It's only a matter of time and five-to-ten years is not really a long time.

Are you actually militarily landed on the islands? I doubt the Japanese will be that easily willing to give them up. Not to mention they also come under US protection.
The mighty PLAN and PLAAF already control the battlezone. We made a mockery of USA-Japan alliance. There is no population on the island to occupy. PLA will land when we decide to survey it.

The next step I think, would be to control the coming and the going of traffic. To make the Japanese Coast guards' work difficult. To frustrate the hell out of them. We all know nobody is going to fire the first shot.

In time the status of the islands will become undefined. That would be the time to have a sitdown and talk.
China achieved regular patrols last year in September. Now we are already in step two.

What Japan needs to do is go Nuclear, they can easily do it. Shinzo is slowly getting rid of the pacifism.
China is surrounded by nations that have problems with it. Japan can use this to their advantage.
Wait.. I thought USA was going to protect them against a PLA nuclear attack? Or must they defend themselves now

All the nation which have dispute with China are impotent, except Japan.

Going nuclear is not an option for Japan.

We all know no country is actually going to press the red button.
Russia is strong too but Russia is technically still at war with Japan. Japan is still claiming Russian-controlled Southern Kurils

.
Tell us why you think??

Chinese never administered or controlled those Islands. Just that chinese has seen them in the past do not make them chinese lands.

^ We control them now :)

We have been adminstering and monitoring our land like the Diaoyu Islands for centuries. We just dont have the proper vessels and airplanes to patrol them in the past. Now we have.

Again making stupid claims without fact. There is no indication that chinese troops control the islands, they are under direct japanese control.Everytime they make a sneak air intrusion or send some patrol boats and hongwu sir opens up a new thread.

China expels Japanese vessels from Diaoyu Islands waters

05-26-2013 22:20 BJT

Three Chinese maritime surveillance ships have expelled Japanese vessels from territorial waters surrounding the Diaoyu Islands, according to the official website of China’s State Oceanic Administration.

Earlier on Sunday, the Associated Press news agency reported that 30 Japanese right-wing nationalists had sailed towards the Diaoyu Islands on four fishing boats. The Japanese activists said they were going to fish in the area, and patrol the islands.

China’s State Oceanic Administration says its surveillance flotilla monitored the Japanese vessels and took evidence of their violations before expelling them.

LOL at the Indians and Vietnamese feeling so inferior because they know we can squash them like a bug after we are done dealing with USA-Japan alliance :)

Are you actually militarily landed on the islands? I doubt the Japanese will be that easily willing to give them up. Not to mention they also come under US protection.

what would landing on the islands accomplish? the japanese did not land on the islands either back when they patrolled the place. its mostly because its pointless, any soldiers on the islands are effectively stranded(all of their supplies must be obtain from boats). there are effectively nothing on the islands, and any conflict will take place in the seas and not on a (tiny)empty island.

also when the media says things like "control" or "administered" the islands, they are really misleading terms, they really mean one side has boats/ships in the area that actively stops the other side from landing on the islands(activists mostly) or stopped the other side from fishing there. and since japan unilaterally tried to change the status quo, when it attempted to charge a chinese captain(fisherman) under japanese law rather than the status quo of deportation and when its government purchased the islands from private hand, the chinese government decided they weren't gonna take that BS, the result is now, china effectively "control" and "administer" the islands and this news is merely another confirmation that china does in fact now run the place.

in addition for all the talk of possible US military intervention, china is not deterred, the japanese refused to even talk about the disputes with china, the results of the situation today are cause by japanese moves and while china can give concessions on many matters to the US(owning to greater US power), matters relating to sovereignty is not one of those. It is once of the very few areas that china will risk nuclear with the US over(and formerly, the soviet union, see the border conlficts in the past).

Are you saying that India is impotent? How could that be?
