The Leshan Giant Buddha is the largest Buddha statue in the world.

Leshan Giant Buddha History
Construction was begun in the year 713 ACE during the time of the Tang Dynasty. Unfortunately, funding for the Leshan Giant Buddha statue project was threatened during the early years of construction. As a result, Hai Tong is said to have gouged out his own eyes to show his unwavering commitment to its completion.

Although funding for the project was to eventually be restored, Hai Tong would die before its completion. Fortunately, the giant Buddha statue would finally be completed by the disciples of Hai Tong in 803 ACE.

The miraculous qualities of the giant Buddha statue were very effective in accomplishing the objective of Hai Tong. As such, the water flowing through the river passage became calm and safe for the ships passing below.

What materials? Steel and concrete? Lol please don't tell me you don't have those locally.. lmao

No, bronze plating was contracted to Chinese company. Yes, India produces steel, concrete, recently topped Japan for second place for steel production world wide.

The powerful crane from China's Sany is contributing to the statue.

The statue is the symbol of the friendship between the two countries. And we hope we can see more such statues to be built in the next few years to furthur deepen our friendship.

When China produces half of the world total steel, all global steel production rankings after China becomes meaningless.

Destroying Mosques at home and building somewhere else. Veey nice.
China also builds some of the most beautiful mosques in China, want to see some videos?

China contributes to Buddhism in India, to which I have no objection.
