are you talking about geopolitics at all? or you live in a 'perfect' world that power does not come from gunpowder in international affairs? how much do you actually care about those refugees or you just want China to stretch muscles blindly regardless of national interests and geopolitical strategy? somehow PRC Chinese shouldn't take care of PRC interest first?

please differentiate national interests from personal feelings.
on personal level i sympathize with all the overseas Chinese, we all want a peaceful environment for future prosperity. but any ethnic Chinese (overseas or not doesn't matter) should not have the delusion that national strategy or geopolitical calculations will change according to 'human compassion and traditions'. otherwise Brits wouldn't have started Opium War, Japanese wouldn't have wiped out Nanjing, ME would have been peaceful and the sh!t constantly going on in Africa (in many way even worse than ME) would have attracted our attention.

Of course, 小人, which means ordinary people in Confucius' teaching, are motivated by self interest, but if a country and its leaders are only motivated by material interests, what you get is like today's China. Nobody cares about integrity, environmental disasters for future generations, and give cold shoulders towards each other. No overseas Chinese will have warm feelings towards China if China treats overseas Chinese like strangers. I am not advocating China's military intervention, but China should help restore peace and help request more autonomy for Kokang. If China is so enthusiastic about North Korea, and ships lots of aids to them, and at the same time, ignore Kokang, then the world and overseas Chinese know what kind of government the PRC is.

Material interests are short lived, and countries will change face when you are of no help towards them, but blood and cultural bonds will last forever. That's why North Koreans will hate the Chinese, and will move closer towards South Korea when North Koreans are no loner under Kim's regime, even though Kim regime is treating South Korea like sworn enemy. Mark my words.

In Malaysia we are accuse conspire to break away more territory. I have read some articles accusing china as "neo-imperialist" in Africa and I have no doubt they will start something sort of it.

I have relatives who live in Brazil (from my father's side); they migrated there in the 1920s. They may be Nihonjin in appearance (well some are married to Brazilians now), but their heart and character is more Brazilian (Latino Culture) than it is for Japan. They are Brazilians first, and ethnic Japanese second.

Even the Japanese-Americans here in the 'states -- they identify first with America as they are American Nationals, American Citizens. Last would be their Japanese ethnicity.

The same should apply for you, buddy. You are son of Malaysia first, second should be your ethnicity being Han.

This question is very sensitive if it involve internal politic of the nation.
For me, i am malaysian chinese. Of course i am malaysia first, but i don't have to try hard to prove it.

People should look into bigger picture, share the benefit together instead of taking advantage of others. Although we knew there are lots of other nations don't do this. They prefer to export low cost, high risk and polluted industries to poorer nations.
