You really need to get out more, the same is true for Indians and Chinese in the UK and US. Does this mean India just past the US in education.

One of the many reasons university rankings don't look at this fact when considering their rankings.

Love for ones country should not blind the objectivity. Mine is not an opinion. I based my opinion on facts as I did a lot of research on higher education across the world as I myself was an aspirant to MS programs and going to join one next year. Having 2 to 3 universities in lists such as Times University list doesn't say anything about the quality of education. Moreover, Times list can easily be manipulated. Many universities do that and I have a fair idea how they do that to get into that list. As I said there is long long way to go for Chinese education to called anywhere near world class. Same with India too. Like China, India too have great elite institutes and then a big void.

@ito I read that 4500 was the intake for govt medical colleges. Do you know what intake is for private medical colleges in India yearly? (Just wondering so I can put some figures into perspective).

Also brother, dont demean those that go to China for education and return to India. They are passing the FMGE like any other. There is a severe shortage of education supply in India for fields like Medicine...and many quality people are actually not making it because of reservation etc. They are not "rejects"....India is not in a position to have such ultra high standards...rather it is an issue of lack of capacity for the most part.

So we need to fix that major issue before criticizing quality of Chinese education, which still has to go through the rigour of FMGE standards when its graduates return to India. Hoep you understand.

I am not criticizing Chinese education...but, I don't have good opinion on Chinese Universities baring some universities such as tsinghua university and peking university

I do not have to search Internet, it is well know fact. Don't even mention Indian's pathetic showing in PASA test. Indians are very good in spelling-bee contest though.

Doing mbbs in India is a really costly affair, If you are doing it from private institute.

I had a gf who was doing mbbs back in 2006, I was doing btech.
Her PMT ranking was not sufficient, she opted for managent seat.
65 lacs was the amount she paid for the management seat.
Add 4 lacs per annum regular fees for the course, for 5 years.

NEW DELHI: Not just Chinese consumer products, India also receives thousands of "made in China" doctors. China is today the largest contributor of MBBS doctors to India followed by Russia, Ukraine and Nepal, according to data collated by the National Board of Examinations, which conducts Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) screening tests.

The FMGE is a voluntary entrance test introduced in 2002 as a qualifying exam for Indian students holding medical degrees from other countries and intending to practice medicine in India. The Medical Council of India (MCI) recognises this exam.

As many as 11,825 Indian students, who have Chinese MBBS degrees, took the FMGE test during 2012-2014, while 5,950 were from schools in Russia and 3,163 in Nepal. The rush for foreign destinations, experts say, is fuelled by those who fail to get admissions in Indian colleges. Of over 5 lakh Indian MBBS aspirants each year, about 4,500 get seats in government colleges.

While UK, Germany and Singapore attract candidates, the numbers are comparatively smaller than those who go to China and Nepal for European institutes are costlier. The number of doctors who train in countries like China and Russia has risen sharply in recent years, but they must clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) for provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any state medical council. There's an impression, however, that the calibre of doctors who train in these countries isn't on a par with those qualifying from Indian institutions.

The National Board of Examinations that conducts the FMGE ranks foreign universities or medical institutes on their candidates' performance in the screening test. While the government plans to increase PG seats in some super-specialty departments in a few key institutes, including AIIMS, there are no such plans for basic MBBS course

they are not chinese doctors but Indians who got medical education in China and obviously they wont advertise it.
