It is only natural. China is the biggest country in the world with a massive economy, and they provide decent medical training. They have much better health and social parameters than India, so we should not be pooh-poohing their quality. These doctors all have to take the FMGE exam anyway, which is quite rigorous and demanding one....if Chinese medical education standards were so bad, these returnees will be failing really badly and no one will be interested in further applying in later years (word will spread).
Also the good fact is many of the students that go to China return to India to practice (and gain further degrees and specialisation) etc.
Compare this to the ones that go to Europe and US that then stay there and use up their best years there or even never return back to India.....because of the amount of money they spend on the program and the salary they feel they need to get to recuperate that expense and have the lifestyle commensurate with their profession (in their view).
Whereas Indian doctors cannot so easily stay and practice in China given Chinese domestic supply itself for such....so we have a good input/output ratio for China...and they have the capacity to provide it (whereas Indian medical education is overstretched significantly 5000 intake out of 500,000 aspirants is shocking - even when factoring its just looking at govt medical college).
I am all in favour for both India and China to increase education exchanges in all sectors....especially in areas where there is good Chinese supply and shortage of such in India (medicine is a glaring one). This gives a breathing room till India can overhaul and expand its own supply over the coming decades (which is sorely lacking).
