Unfortunately, Nawaaz Sharif got elected as a "business friendly" choice which, in Pakistan, is code for "won't raise/collect taxes".

To be honest its a difference of semantics.
As long as some one keeps offering a hand when Pakistan is drowning, they would never change.
Case in point - no one offered India help when we were in a debt crisis in 1991. India had to pledge its gold to get monetary relief and under strict conditions which forced India to change its policies and mentality.

Today Pakistan considers its right that some one offers a helping hand each time it starts drowning.

And this is perfect for India. As long as this keeps happening, as long as Pakistanis are offered loans/grants, they dont change their economy, they remain stuck - India forges ahead.

The distance between India and Pakistan keeps increasing.

Personally, I would want India to have a minimum 1-2 decade lead over Pakistan. We currently have about 1 decade lead. Hopefully Pakistan would not change from its Islamist/Jehadist/Self destructive tendencies till atleast 2020 - that means economic growth stuck till upto 4% and no more.
