China $700 billion water diversion project benefits over 100 million people

It's our country and we know everything, our scientists did study on this for decades, one suggestion is to follow the Tibet railway, that's the shortest cut.
You just don't get it, Yangtze river is one of the biggest in the world in terms of discharge and is in a favourable location ( plains and source nearby to the target). But in comparison Yarlung is just a hill stream and its route inside China is longer than in India. One, it is not at all cost effective transferring this small amount of water at the source, secondly in the inhospitable terrain of Tibet you can atmost build one or two channels close to the source of the river. The entire remaining length of the river from Xigaze to Nyingchi would remain untapped and the flow would continue unabated to India.

Now please don't tell us that you are planning to transfer Yarlung's waters to Beijing.

.
It's water specialists work, not mine, they did study for many decades , you don't have to convince me anything, go to talk to them, they are the same people who made south north water diversion miracle a reality.

Yaluzangbu in Tibet

The diversion is not only Yaluzangbu, but also many tributaries from glaciers.

Yeah keep harping on the south north thing, so far as the Yarlung is concerned you can do zilch.

Infact we welcome you Chinese to start your project from the NE India, we have more water than we need, divert some of our excess waters to your deserts if you can:rofl: Maybe then we can get rid of the seasonal floods that plague us every year.

Who cares if you have water or not, we are moving water in China, why you keep bringing India in?

Look, learn about Chinese geography first, i know you don't care about Tibet but we do. Beyond the upper reaches of Siang there is only Chinese occupied Tibet, and your illegal activities are aiding pollution of the Yarlung Tsangpo.
Did anyone analyze what was the black stuff? India should lodge a complaint. We are only guilty if proven guilty, aren't the Indians building a dam there as well? I am just saying...

I already told you that no Indian construction goes up at that altitude. Dams are being built at the lower reaches of the rivers(tributaries), not the main river that flows from China which turned black killing life forms and making people fall sick. Even then people from my state are opposing the Indian dam. Now just imagine what reactions your transgressions in China are causing.

If that's the case, someone from India should lodge a protest. It might be contractors dumping stuff into India.

No such instances yet this year. Mostly happens when India-China relationship turn sour like during Doklam, and we are the ones to suffer.

Sorry to hear that. But you guys are collateral damage. One day we will kick them out.

Once read about an idea of flattening a part of the Qinling mountain range to allow warmth and humidity to flow from the South to the North, to alleviate drought and desert sandstorm in the North.

Improbable, but fascinating.

This was a joke made by 葛优 from a TV show 30 years ago.

. .
It's the Himalayas mountain range he's talking about, which is even more improbable.
So it was a joke, not like this water diversion one being researched and studied seriously for decades and coming out with very detailed plans and budget estimations.
