In Shaanxi Province, Chinese police have discovered 22 tons of pork that was sold as certified halal (Islam-approved) beef. Muslims are forbidden from eating pork. This case, once again, demonstrates the lack of seriousness of the halal industry in Asia.

The meat in question was sold in the city of Xi’an, a large town in the province of Shaanxi, as halal beef. The authorities already reported that 2 tons of the pork products were sold on the market marked as halal unbeknownst to the Muslim population.

Camouflage methods used by criminals are known by specialists: paraffin wax and industrial salts.

The conclusion remains the same from Paris to Beijing: the halal market does not reassure consumers. (And you can be sure, nobody in China cares.)

Any processed meat is dangerous. It is always better buy directly from the butcher. It will not only be fresh but also ensure that you know what you are getting.

As far this taking place in china is not a surprise. fake plastic rice, adulterated milk powder, gutter oil..etc are already known issues just add this to the list.

I seriously doubt this news. I eat both and I can easily differentiate between them. Even though pork is more tasty (for me), there are a lot of visible differences between them. So I don't think anyone can simple sell raw pork meat as beef, unless some disguise or processing is done. :-)

Get sharp knives i am no expert but they get the job done
The difficult part is cleaning
