Children Are Being 'Used' To Create Unrest In Kashmir, Says Mehbooba Mufti

As the violence after the death of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist fails to stop even three weeks after his death, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today made a strong appeal for peace, in the name of the children, who she said, were being "used" to create unrest on the street.

In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Ms Mufti appealed to the people to think of the next generations, pointing out that "People whose children were studying abroad, were instigating other children to violence".

"All the children born in the last 15 years have only seen violence. We can't push them to more violence," she added.

While Pakistan declared Wani a martyr, Lashkar chief Hafiz Sayeed was reported to have admitted that his men had fanned the violence in the Kashmir Valley in which 47 people have died and more than 2,500 people had been injured.


Many of them stands to lose their vision following injuries in the eye from the pellet guns of the security forces.

Attacking the instigators of this violence in no uncertain terms, the chief minister said "many forces" have come together to "vitiate the atmosphere".

This, she said, was their "business". "They spend money, send children from one area to another to create trouble, divert children and lead them to police stations and forces camps, because they know there will be retaliation. Only common people will get killed, while the instigators run away."

Quoting her father, the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, she said guns and grenades never solved anything, "Only dialogue can help".

Coming down vehemently against the street protesters, Ms Mufti further said they were acting as the agents of destruction, destroying state property that may take years to rebuild.

"They are attacking police stations, attacking camps and court complexes and destroying everything. We will have to reconstruct it again."

Mehbooba should wake up to the reality. Kashmir was always like this, only now it is becoming visible. Mehbooba knows this perfectly well. She has kept her daughters safely in London and Delhi. As has Omar. All this is only sham and hypocrisy. Kashmir needs an iron hand to keep it under control. otherwise this is what you get.

After the advent of [Islam] into Afghanistan and South Asia, a significant number of Hindu Brahmins and Kshatriya's converted to Islam and adopted the title of Shaikh. In Punjab, they are known as Kashmiri Shaikh. The Kashmiri Shaikhs are mostly urban and some are involved in agriculture.

Who says Hindus should leave they can live without Indian raj here

I am one of those converts(well actually it was my greatgrandfather)
But that didnt stop my grandfather from being part of the forces that stood up against tyranny of Dogras

Yes Hindus are technically the occupiers but i am sure without indian raj the local hindus can stay wothout issues
