On the flip-side...look like an opportunity! "chance of the century" my learned Friend!
Is there any guarantee the new norm set by Indians will not be done again! i dont think so...there narrative/strategy is built upon retaliation..precedent is set already.
Look Who is out of the whole!!
Any misadventure by Pakistan Army will be repelled with punitive response: Army chief
"The Indian armed forces stand resolute and ready to defend our territorial integrity. Let there be no doubt that misadventures will be repelled with a punitive response," he said.

Pakistan Army will be repelled with punitive response and no act of terror will go unpunished, Army chief General Bipin Rawat said Saturday.
Speaking at an event on '20 Years after KargilConflict', Rawat said Pakistan Army, time and again, resorts to misadventure, either through state-sponsored terrorism or intrusions in India.
"The Indian armed forces stand resolute and ready to defend our territorial integrity. Let there be no doubt that misadventures will be repelled with a punitive response," he said.
The rise of non-state actors and the readiness to use terror and other irregular methods of fighting have become a new norm, he said.
Addition of cyber and space domain has changed the battlefield scenario, the Army chief noted.
Rawat also asserted that no act of terror will go unpunished. "Surgical strikes post-Uri and Balakot (terror attacks) have amply demonstrated our political and military resolve against terror. Any act of terror will not go unpunished," Rawat added.
@Starlord and @The tall Guy.
My post is in response to your posts.
As compared to previously there is one major difference. The Indians had been shouting and boasting till they went hoarse and the Pak establishment had been playing it cool. Indians took it as a sign of our weakness and thought they had enough international clout to bombus and we would have to take it and keep quiet. I think the mission was to just drop bombs and maintain the narrative of Surgical strike thinking Pak side would not respond to a strike with no material damage( perhaps intentional). The Pak side decided to respond and respond in a manner that stunned their enemy. Their response to our incursions resulted in rather unfortunate loss of their platforms AND PILOTS which was not planned for by the PAF. So the opportunity came and PAF wisely and in strict persuance of international norms of engagement took it. This more than anything else is what has stung them into silence.
Now our populace jumped up and down over why the enemy had not been shot on the night of 26th. If we had invaded their air space our fate could also have been similar. So in effect this was also a training and discipline deficit between the two forces.
If the above narrative is true, then I link back to my original post onthis subject and say that further incursions would not come in the immediate future as capacity, armaments and training gaps would have to be looked into by IAF before they try again. If the time exceeds six months then they would have to stage another event to find a reason for the incursion. In my humble opinion they would now not do so for another 3-5 years.
This remains my analysis and you can shred it to bits as it is my opinion.
Wassalam
