Chinese setting up an Industrial park in India won't be welcome as of now.

This thread is about Chabahar vs Gwadar.
Whatever China is investing is only because it wants a secondary route for ME oil rather than Malacca which US Navy would block in case of conflict.

So as a commercial port Chabahar will come out on top any day. It has the required hinterland which Gwadar cannot acquire.

But there is simply no comparision between Chabahar and Gwader.

Gwader will cater to China and Chabahar to few Central Asian countries. Central Asia gdp is hardly $200 billion combined, probably much less. Afghanistan gdp is $20 billion. We have to be realistic here.

I am pretty sure Iran have other port for their own needs just like there is Karachi for Pakistan. For India it will be used to export products to central asia bypassing Pakistan. And these central asian economy are really small. And Tajikistan and Afghanistan for exemple already have road links with Pak.

*China Trade potential is in excess of a Trillion dollars though to middle it is in excess of Billion dollars and it can be not only a close route to Gulf countries but even Europe.

*Tajikistan has already built road on its side and has funded sections of Karakoram highway.This is the reason why we see so many sign boards on Karakoram highway with not only chinese language but now even in Russian(Tajikistan)

*Chabahar

Conclusion

Let say by 2020 both are operation

Trade Potential of Gwadar with china/Tajikistan(Confirmed) is atleast in excess of 100Billion dollars

Trade Potential of Chabahar with Afghanistan and Uzbekistan is no more than 5-8Billion dollars

Transporting goods from Guangzhao to Gwadar by land will cost a ton.

The trade potential between Russia, India, Iran and Central asian countries will be greater than whatever Pakistan manages to produce in the deserts of Balochistan or whatever little oil passes through Gwadar for China unless China is in a war like scenario.

Talking about chabbar how can we forget Intenational north south transport corridor connecting india and russia via iran.
No, that's not forgotten at all.
In the photo below, it is the Omani delegation in Chabahar discussing the so called "Eshgh abad" agreements.
The "Eshgh abad" agreement is a railway agreement between, Iran, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Oman, Turkmenistan.
The joint venture railway can be seen in the background, connecting Chabahar to Zahedan and Mashhad, and central Asia and Russia.

They are next to each other which makes them rivals which neccesiated the opening of this thread.

We are not mad to put a supply route to Russia, Central Asia and Afghanistan in the hands of Pakistan.

Chabahar has been semi functioning for the past 30 years. Gwadar has just begun operations in a nascent state.

Chabahar is not for Central Asia trade with Afganistan. I mean thats just really stupid to even think like that. Wont Tajikistan send goods to Afganistan by its road at the border???????

There is a difference between an active trading port like Chahbahar and a port built by China like Gwadar which serves China's interests in terms of contingency.

Which company will send goods all the way into Balcohistan towards Gwadar? Common logistics and operations logic will mean Karachi cheaper and closer than Gwadar.

Also India will promote Chabahar because we won't want Gwadar to become a commercial hub as that will benefit Pakistan.

The less you develop the better for India :)

I don't think every person residing in Balochistan wants a separate country. Majority of the Baloch people do. ( Hope this is not going off-thread).

There is no seperatist movements in balochistan, this is nothing but a propaganda and exaggeration made by west to break Pakistan. Because Balochistan is most important part of Pakistan, it is blessed with all sorts of mineral resources. Nearly half of Pakistan's natural gas comes from sibi and Sui and other areas of this Pakistani province.
Few of my class mates in collage were from balochistan. Balochis love Pakistan more than anyone.
And even in this PDF lots of members are from balochistan.

Guys here have forgotten one of the major factors in Chabahar future development, and that element alone can boost this ports development by 20 times.
And that important factor is the Gas pipeline infrastructure already present at Chabahar, this was the so called previous "Peace project" that has been rejected by the involved parties, and now that Pipeline is there, capable to import huge amounts of Gas from the Asaluyeh Gas reserves to Chabahar port, hence there would be no need for large ships even to cross the narrow, crowded strait of Hormoz.

Its a common sense wali baat.

Gwadar needs much more investment. It was just a patch of sand a little while ago.

Cost of building basic infra like power plant, airport and a decent 6 lane highway along with a railway will cost more than $40 billion. Not to mention an entire civil infra throughout Gwadar town.
Power supply lines, transformers etc. A huge list which Chabahar essentially has.

India is upgrading Chabahar so we don't need billions.
China is building an entire infrastructure from a bottom to top approach.

Would you be willing to invest $100000 to set up a small factory there?

To Indians:

It invested 40-50 billion dollars in Gawadar to use the port for active use, no backup for China for the carriage of oil. China is as gentle a country the size of 60 countries in European size. China is a huge market and will keep the port in time. Everything from oil, gas, goods and passenger are intended for use by this port. Also Afghans, tadjikere, Kyrgyz, Uzbekere, Turkmen, Kazakhere are interested in using this port, it has also emerged in Bilateral meetings between Pakistani leaders and the leaders of the Central Asian fraternal countries.

Iran is a brotherly country. We want Iran all good. If your port blomstrere pleasures too. A large portion of the Afghan population traveling back and forth to Pakistan and live along our border. It takes a lot for these goes to another port.

For Indian usage is the Iranian port in a good solution. India is a big market, you need your own haven. Gawadar is charged enough with Pakistani, Chinese, Afghan, tadikiske, Kirghiz and uzbekiske customers

OK @indians+iranians, Chabahar is a great Port..it will serve more than Gwadar while Gwadar is a stupid project bcz Chinese are very stupid to invest close to 40 billion dollars in Gwadar Project...CASE CLOSED NOW...

???? Only time will tell, Indians have the habbit to downplay every activity in Pakistan and blow up everything you guys do, and India shining. Sharaam karoo. Millins of Indians are dieng from hunger and you guys are playing politics abroad.
