CCS clears 3rd Production line for LCA-Tejas

According to Government sources closer to India Today, CCS meet chaired by PM Narendra Modi cleared a proposal to ramp up the production of indigenously built LCA Tejas fighters. CCS meet was chaired yesterday by PM Modi and one of the crucial agenda was approval for HAL to set up third Tejas production line. HAL already has identified land near Nekkundi for setting up structural assembly hangar, process shop and sheet metal shop, among others. But CCS clearance will allow HAL to start the process of seeking various clearance and also prepare a report for capital expenditure required for the new facility. Defence Analyst Ranesh Rajan speaking to idrw.org informed that CCS Nod only means HAL Proposal has been approved and final clearance is still far away but still can be seen has positive progress and it is expected that in next few years a 3rd production line facility will be established to execute Indian air force orders placed for 83 Tejas MK1A .

Awesome... The baby is gonna hit its yearly production rate soon.

Does HAL have 2 operational production lines for the LCA currently?

So it may be around 15 jets per year once it gets operational..:chilli:

It is make or break for HAL. Last 2 years, the entire landscape of arms production and procurement has changed.
