You didnt read the thread properly. LY80 was discussed.

. .
Many Pakistani tankers are going to meet their maker thanks to this weapon. However, most Pakistani tankers and their associated leaders probably have zero idea on what it exactly is. The going phrase being "Our JF-17 will take care of it"

ly 80 isn't a quick response sam mate and it can't move with armored columns.

They are pretty much relying on AT battalion and SAMs for sure. What's solution in your mind?

god help us if even army isn't concerned about this weapon.
why is there such level of ignorance in the army about cbu 105 .it isn't like the capabilities of this system isn't well documented in Iraq invasion .

a longer range system similar to the ly-90(in terms of manoeuvrability) is required. as far as cluster munition is concerned both sides have cluster munitions. if im not mistaken they indian munitions are only fitted on the updated jags which will retire in the not to distant future(2030).

however its worth mentioning the cbu-105 does not begin to to scatter its payload until about 15000ft as tank formations are not that spread out that it needs to begin scattering so high .
im sure the fm-90 has a radar with a range greater than 20km. so in short there is a slim chance the fm-90 can bring it down before it begins to scatter it payload. finally the fm-90 has a stated range of 15 km it could be higher or lower. depends on how they market it, like the usa or russia.

This is not a stand off system it will be neutralize by MID range SAM before its releasing:p:

The CBU-105 is not just a guided dispenser, but even the bomblets are guided (with dual infrared and laser homing with explosive propelled top attack warheads). I don't think any country outside of the U.S. has this technology.

I understand that fact that even the bomblets are guided however I was wondering if the Hajara bomb itself can be easily guided; Pakistan has already done it with REK SOW what's stopping us from doing it with these?Furthermore does it really matter at the end of the day when tank columns are usually really close to each other?

I have a feeling this weapon can only be used if india gains air superiority, which is nowhere near guaranteed.
