Car manufacturing in Bangladesh: preparing for the next biggest industry after apparel

So - I had a few hours to think about this and it turns out, we do not even have a national policy for EV vehicles. Nor do we have a plan to set up charging points and how to monetize the wait while the cars are charging (restaurants, rest points etc.) like in Japan.

Maybe some observation of surrounding countries are necessary on how they are tackling this so far.

And the result is, sorry to say - not good.

Even after Indian govt. provided hundreds of millions of dollars to auto manufacturers in India under FAME and FAME II incentive programs, adoption of electric vehicles is lackluster to say the least.

All it did was pay Tata and Mahindra some govt. money in subsidies, of which I am sure, a significant amount went back as kickback to Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India (previous BJP supremo and Maratha goonda leader) Nitin Gadkari and his boss Chaiwala.

I am sure these crooks knew this all along, that kanjoosi Sanghis in India would never buy twice as expensive EV's. So the whole thing was an eye-wash.

In Pakistan, there was also lots of hope for electric vehicles, but in the marked absence of kanjoosi, they do have a thriving private EV market for mainly imported luxury electric vehicles such as various sizes of the Toyota Prius and Honda EV's. But widespread adoption still eludes that market -which they're hoping will change with CPEC. Please read up and enjoy if you're interested.
