Hmm We need a operation in all agencies ASAP and in Waziristan. The Swat operation improved security situation so much so just imagine if we do operation in WZ.

If the army doesn't clean up Waziristan this will continue. This war is not over, it will only end in Waziristan.

By the grace of Allah me & family fine too, office is about half kilometer away from the blast site. But many of my colleagues & friends have been injured.

May Allah give peace to the souls of the departed & courage to their families to bear the loss of a loved one, and may Allah destroy those who do such cowardly acts & make people suffer.

LOST IDENTITY: Blasts in Peshawar and Bannu

Two days ago Qari Hussain’s gave interview to AP’s reporter Rasool Dawar in North Waziristan in which Qari Hussain threatened to use Suicide bombers in case government launches operation.

We have enough suicide bombers, and they are asking me to let them sacrifice their lives in the name of Islam, but we will send suicide bombers only if the government acts against us," he said.

He also claimed that TTP has become more strong and united after death of Baitullah Mahsud.

"Our movement has gained more strength after the martyrdom of Baitullah Mehsud," he said. "We are united."

It’s very interesting to note that Qari Hussain, Master mind and Father of Suicide bombing in Pakistan gave Interview in North Waziristan, which means he is not in SWA.

Today, a day after publication of this interview a suicide bomber at about 7:30 in morning, crashed his truck filled with explosives with Maidan Police Station, eight kilometer away from Bannu City between FR Jani Khel and Bannu. According to express news in this attack 6 people died and some 60 people got injured most of them Police men.

This attack came after September 24th attack on peace committee members coming to Bannu from Sarki Khel. Which resulted in Clash between Qaumi Lashker with Militants in which 10 militants were killed.

Another attack today took place in Peshawar. Where militants used timed device in a car using approximately 100 Kg of explosives. The attack took Place at approximately 11:30 AM, resulting in death of 10 innocent civilians and injury of more than 100 people. 2 suspicious people were arrested by police near the impact area and a grenade was recovered which was defused by bomb disposal squad. TTP has claimed the responsibility of Both Attacks.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Provincial Information Minister of Pakhtoonkhwa province while talking to Media today said Pakhtoonkhwa province is in State of war; we have broken the back bone of Militants in Swat, and at present Pakistani forces are hitting militants in Hangu, Dara Adam Khel, Aurak Zai and Waziristan… this attack is act of desperation by terrorists.(Express news).

Pakistani government has indeed broken Back bone of Taliban. Their leaders are hiding or have gone under ground. Qari Hussain him self gave interview to media after nearly 3 or 4 months.

Pakistani forces with help of local population (in form of Tribal Lashkers) are successfully hitting Taliban in Aurak Zai, Swat, Malakand, South Waziristan agencies etc. The Line of Communication and Supply of TTP is bad shape under continuous attack of PAF, Pakistan Army and Local Lashkers.

Its matter of common sense to understand the strategy of Taliban. They want to divert the Pressure from their Center of Gravity, which is in SWA by attacking military and civilian targets at different places.

Reports coming out of areas around SWA suggest that tribes and local population is taking up arms against Taliban. Lashkers being formed by locals in Lakki Marwat and Bannu and other bordering Areas against militants.

On other hand PAF bombardment along with economic and communication blockade, is taking tool on Morale of Taliban. This is why in Sheer frustration, Taliban are acting desperately.

According to Sources Misbahuddin Mahsud has assumed leader ship of Abdullah Mahsud group in SWA. Misbahuddin is considered to be the most dangerous enemy of TTP. Reports are also coming that Abdullah Mahsud group and Turkistan Bhitani are working together against TTP. Misbahuddin Mahsud has also ordered his Bhitani followers to join their tribal leader Turkistan Bhitani.

According to old URDU proverb

چراغ جب بھجنے لگتا ہے تو ٹمٹماتا ہے۔۔۔

“Oil lamp before dieing down gives lots of Light”

TTP is moving towards its conclusion. It will do every thing to escape its fate. Pakistan is at decisive Point, its duty of International community to stand by it. Pakistan’s war on Terror is episode of Sacrifices made by Pakistani Government and People for world peace. If world fails to appreciate it, then no one will ever stand up for sake of the world peace.

Bombs kill 15 in Pakistan towns: police
PAKISTAN - 26 SEPTEMBER 2009

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Suicide bombers blew up vehicles in two attacks Saturday that killed 15 people in northwest Pakistan, in an escalating revenge campaign against security forces, officials said.

The second attack in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar ripped through a crowded area near banks, shops and a wedding hall on a road leading to the army cantonment, hours after a similar attack outside a police station in Bannu.

Ten people were killed in Peshawar and another five on the outskirts of Bannu in a district close to the rugged tribal region of North Waziristan where Washington says Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are plotting attacks on the West.

Pakistan's umbrella Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) group claimed responsibility for the Bannu attack and threatened to unleash bigger attacks on government targets to avenge the killing of their leader Baitullah Mehsud in a US drone attack.

"It was a car suicide blast and according to our calculations 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of explosives were used," Shafqat Malik, bomb disposal squad chief, told reporters at the scene of the Peshawar attack.

"The suicide bomber sitting inside the car hurled a grenade and then he detonated himself and the car," Malik said, describing the target as a branch of the Askari bank, which is run by an army welfare trust.

TV footage showed volunteers hauling the wounded on to the back of trucks as police tried to evacuate the area, with ambulances inching past onlookers as a young girl limped away with blood spattered on her green dress.

The explosion smashed the windows of nearby commercial buildings, car showrooms and offices of commercial banks, an AFP reporter said.

There was panic with people running everywhere. Pieces of flesh were blown all over the place, among pools of blood, he said. The explosion also damaged at least 21 vehicles, which were removed from the site by several car lifters.

Police said they were investigating how the bomber managed to penetrate a routine security cordon and branded the attack revenge for military operations against Islamist militants in the lawless tribal belt on the Afghan border.

"At least 10 people were killed and 50 others wounded in the attack," provincial health minister Zahir Ali Shah told reporters.

Doctor Mohsin Hayat at the main government-run hospital in Peshawar also confirmed the number of casualties.

"This bomb blast is a reaction to ongoing operations in tribal areas," Liaqat Ali Khan, Peshawar city police chief, told AFP.

Pakistan has been hit by a wave of bombings that have killed more than 2,100 people over the last two years in the nuclear-armed country which the United States has put on the frontline of the war against Al-Qaeda.

"These are satanic forces and we have to fight them," said North West Frontier Province information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain. "The international community will have to work together to eliminate their network."

In Bannu, district police officer Iqbal Marwat said five people were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a truck in the town's Mandan area.

At the district hospital, Doctor Ikram Alam said five bodies were pulled out of the rubble of the collapsed police station and nearby buildings, including two policemen and three civilians. "More than 50 are injured," he said.

"Eighty percent of the building was destroyed. The houses near the police station were also damaged," Bannu commissioner Sardar Abbas told AFP in the garrison town.

"We claim responsibility for the Bannu bombing. We had been silent but the government took our silence as a sign of a weakness after Baitullah's martyrdom," senior TTP leader Qari Hussain told AFP by telephone.

"We are not weak and in future we will target government installations and officials with greater severity," added Hussain, spokesman of new TTP leader Hakimullah Mehsud and prominent trainer of suicide bombers.

Mehsud was killed in a US drone attack on August 5 in South Waziristan tribal district, also known as the hub of Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants.

US spy planes carry out regular missile attacks on militant targets in Pakistan's tribal badlands, which lie outside direct control and on the border with Afghanistan, where Western troops are fighting a Taliban insurgency.

The government in Islamabad has vowed to wipe out Islamist militants from Pakistan's northwest. Last April, troops launched a blistering assault in a bid to dislodge Pakistani Taliban from the northwest Swat valley.

Lahool willah Quvat

they call this Islam

God forgive, these are the real enemies of Islam who do such things and kill and injure innocent people

.
Deep sympathies to all those affected.

Having been through such incidents many times, people of India can understand the pain. People of NWFP voted for the ANP, which is not hostile to India.

One hopes that peace will come to the region soon.

Unfortunately, this seems to me to be wishful thinking - success in Swat valley does not mean the infrastructure of insurgency has been dismantled - for this to happen, the ideas that propel the insurgency will have to be tackled, the Masajids and Madaress that serve as recuriting and training centers for the insugency will have to be taken on, the ideas in society suggesting that it is noble and good, the in the name of, in support of so called "Muslim" causes will have to be challeneged, the sources of funding will have to be challenged publically - in other words, it's a large societal project, which no Pakistani politician, nor the populist media, has stomach for.

So Pakistan will have to suffer as it has been doing for perhaps more than a decade or two -- and when and if the ideas of the insurgency die, new ideas will be goven birth to, which may end up being even more dangerous.

A pessimistic picture? perhaps, but no smoke up the... it's the reality, better we sober up now.

Just now I heard about it in tonight TV news report. I am very sad over the death of the victims of the explosion. and I am totally at a loss for words. I can not think through how can you killer hurt those innocent people?!

India ??? from where does India comes into this thread ?? Plus India has not suffered the way Pakistan is suffering. We are talking about a bomb blast in Pakistan, not India. ANP may not be hostile to India, but don't worry the people of Pakistan & NWFP will take good care of any Indian misadventure. These same people of NWFP were the ones who reached Srinagar & liberated a large part of Kashmir & fought side by side with the PA, even at that time more pro-indian & popular Pashtun leaders of ANP couldn't do anything to stop these tribal fighters.

This thread is about Pakistan & the car blast in Peshawar, kindly keep the comments to it. Don't make it again into a Pak Vs India match.
