Vietnamese in here are weird. Don't they understand if China and the United States truly goes into war, Vietnam economy will collapse, even if they just sit nicely like a good kid? Look at your map! Your trade ships depend on SCS to bring your goods to other countries. If the war start, those foreign business that open in your country will move out, because your country is simply blockaded by the war. You can say that you can move from Cambodia or Laos. But think. Why don't they open a factory in Myanmar or Thailand if at the end, they have to bring goods to those countries in order to bring the goods into the US or other countries. No one wants to transport their merchandise via an active battlefield. The risk is too high.

The only way for Vietnam to move forward is if the region is at peace. So why don't promote peace rather than punch your chest for your glorious empty nationalism pride?

S400 is not very important because it cannot talk to Chinese datalinks. That makes it useless for anything other than terminal missile defense. TBH I think it was a waste to buy it even if it's better than HQ-9, because the performance of an air defense network depends on the network, not the individual missile.

I think the Chinese could certainly gain some technology from the S-400 and use it towards their HQ-9 series. Also, the S-400 makes an excellent evaluation benchmark for Chinese aircraft ... afterall who wouldn't want to practice against the state of the art SAM?
