Many innovative/crazy weapons were conceptualized during Cold war like LGM-118 Peacekeeper,Assault Breaker .....

However my favorite is USAF's SLAM (Supersonic Low Altitude Missile) or "Slow, Low And Messy!". It was to be powered by a nuclear ramjet giving it a range equivalent to flying around the Earth four times.
it was intended to fly below the cover of enemy radar at supersonic speeds, and deliver thermonuclear warheads to roughly 16 targets.

However You actually wouldn't have needed to put a nuclear warhead on the thing you would just have programmed it to fly back and forth across the USSR a few times and the highly radioactive exhaust would do the job just as well!! :D

TKB-059 Assault rifle

400px-Pribor-ZB.jpg

TKB-059 was a Soviet 3-barrel  bullpup assault rifle, capable of fully automatic fire, chambered for the 7.62 x 39 mm round and manufactured by the Tula State Arsenal in 1966.

The weapons used a tripled 7.62 x 39 mm magazine with a capacity of 90 rounds. The intent was to create a weapon with an increased hitting probability and stopping power.

TKB-059 can provide capabilities of high rates of fire by firing intermediate calibre rifle rounds in salvos suitable enough for a soldier to handle recoil force during full automatic fire without harsh recoil

The M-28 or M-29 Davy Crockett Weapon System(s) was a tactical nuclear recoilless gun for firing the M388 nuclear projectile that was deployed by the United States during the Cold War. It was one of the smallest nuclear weapon systems ever built.

Seawolf class submarine

The Seawolf class attack submarine (SSN) was the intended successor to the Los Angeles class, ordered at the end of the Cold War in 1989. At one time, an intended fleet of 29 submarines was to be built over a ten-year period, later reduced to twelve submarines. The end of the Cold War and budget constraints led to the cancellation in 1995 of any further additions to the fleet, leaving the Seawolf class limited to just three boats.

Soviet Super carrier -Ulyanovsk

Ulyanovsk was the first of a class of Soviet supercarriers which for the first time would have offered true blue water aviation capability for the Soviet Navy.

It would have been 85,000 tons in displacement (more than the older Forrestal-class carriers of the U.S. Navy). Ulyanovsk would have been able to carry the full range of fixed-wing carrier aircraft, as opposed to the limited scope in which Admiral Kuznetsov launched aircraft, by way of a ski jump. The configuration would have been very similar to U.S. Navy carriers though with the typical Soviet twist of adding ASM and SAM launchers.

Its hull was laid down in 1988, but the project was cancelled at 40% complete along with a sister ship in 1991. Scrapping began on 4 February 1992.
