Can this Chinese Operating System (OS) replace Windows?

No appealing, the UI looks just like water down XP while Microsoft already dump XP. The core is Linux kernel. Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse...etc. are much better variants of Linux and yet none of any Linux distro is considered Window killer. Waste money, waste time to invent such poor copy cat, re invent the wheel. I have not mentioned Apple OS. So many inventions from China are either re invent the wheel and or clones. Truth hurt.

XP is still value and highly used in the IT industry. What a noob. LOL

Smartphone's Android OS also based on Linux OpenSource ... so u really know nothing excpet a big mouth, such Linux copy not only used in PC also can be recoded into Embedded System but WinXP or Win7 can't.

I remember Xandros, an old distro which was touted as XP replacement. Those people who are accustomed to Windows eco-system will feel it like a cheap copy although the OS internals are superior(UNIX*). Converting average Windows user is like converting a religionist to the rival religion. So, it's not going to be possible unless the user has a rational and geeky/DIY mindset. KISS(keep it simple,stupid) is the principle that works for common people which Microsoft pioneered until recently (till Windows 7).

yeah, really great. It should take around 5 to 10 years to reach Windows operation capabilities. Eventually we will have something new along windows.

To run 斗地主, you just need a browser(Firefox,Chrome etc) that can run flash and can be installed in any OS system. I am posting this comment on a computer with OS Ubuntu.

Ecology system matters. I have some experiences for red hat Linux and I'd like to use the qilin OS with no problems.

Problem is PC market. I think we should promote linux based mobile system and connect it to PC OS. Multi platform is very important route for current OS development.

Why would I need a wrapper over Ubuntu ? What is it that Ubuntu does not do and this one does ?

It is hard because "Windows" is so dominant but when you refer to the aritcle it said:

"The other major caveat here is that it is standard practice in China, like in many countries, for a local PC seller to load up a new purchase with whatever pirated software the buyer asks for. It is either a frustration or a chance for breaking through the "windows" monopoly if the users would consider using the pre-loaded NeoKylin for good.
